AUGUST VOTING INCENTIVE UP NOW!
More bonus comic pic. Seeing as this bonus comic may never actually come together properly, this may be your only time to see this image, so please…
VOTE TO BE SO VERY, VERY KIND!
As for this comic…
There is actually an alternate joke to this comic posted on my Patreon page right now. I had a very, very hard time deciding which joke was better, so if you want to weigh in about which joke is better, GO HERE TO SEE THE ALTERNATE VERSION!
There it is. Behind that meek exterior is the crouching tiger and hidden dragon.
Where Daphne wears her critters on her sleeve.
Could this be a super team up?
Well, you know how this comic works. This comic where Satan’s daughter is the good one. So if you’ve got an innocent-looking blind girl, you know something’s up.
Begin the long con team up of Canada’s version of. .
“THE A-TEAM”.
…what?
First, did not see that coming (no pun).
Second, if Hannah considers herself too bad for Tyler, where does that leave Daphne?
Third, I get the roller coaster is a metaphor, but does she mean emotional roller coaster, or physical…?
Let’s see: a couple of hills and lots of curves? Check. There even a blind corner that drops away from you, if you are not paying attention.
You know your roller coasters.
First, good.
Second, there is a strong possibility that Daphne is less roller coasterish than Hannah.
Third, that was actually the alt text. Great minds think alike.
@EG
Pretty sure Daffy has never actually ridden a Roller Coaster.
😛
Secret twist: It’s not a metaphor, BUT, it involves an actual roller coaster she owns due to bizarre happenstance. (I didn’t forget their literal take on “a bun in the oven”.. that pun was as cheesy as the bun).
Nothing is not on the table.
Tyler seems to have a type.
There are people in the world who only date trouble. They often don’t even know it.
My favorite exchange in Sherlock was:
Why is everyone in my life like this?
Because you chose us.
And so the Tiny Sweet Blind Girl totally subverts our expectations, moving from Lawful Good to, hmmm, Chaotic Neutral?
Because this version left more to the imagination (alt-text notwithstanding) I liked it better than the Patreon alternative which, although funny enough, went past a more detailed Big Reveal to a very small twist at the end. But who can say?
I would say she’s more the rare Chaotic Good. She is not an evil character. She has a firm moral center but perhaps a more raucous temperament.
And I fully agree with you on the difference between this one and the other one. Can’t give too many of your cards away.
Well, there might be some post-dance make-outs after all. Just, not with Ty.
So many possibilities. That aren’t Ty.
So then the two of them will ditch Tyler aka Taylor and try dating each other?
I wasn’t expecting people to jump to that, but that just shows how poorly I know the interwebs.
Actually it’s just for the sensation of the idea. In real life, and probably in their lives, neither of ’em would survive the roller coaster ride.
That’s very accurate.
Rule 34.
So I’ve gathered.
Daphne, for all her faults, knows people. It’s how she cons them. And she said Hannah was full of it even though others just didn’t see it. Takes one to know one, right? Just because the green eyed monster made Daphne a little blind in her own right, doesn’t mean she can’t make pucks too.
Well, I do feel that Daphne was wrong in that Hannah is legitimately nice. Though she is not what she necessarily seems. So maybe a little right? A little.
She can be legitimately nice but still seem wrong. I’ve always had problems when the collective’s view of a person doesn’t match what is actually there.
I think I read too much uh… ‘political commentary’ because for some reason I can’t help but feel that she’s about to offer Daphne a ticket on that roller coaster.
Is that what political commentary is all about? Huh. Those political commentary shows must be more interesting than I thought.
For better or for worse, we’ve moved on from the MacNeil & Lehrer Report days. Although, we never should have moved on from “That Was the Week That Was”, with a different Lehrer providing commentary on the issues of the day.
Sounds … sober.
Okay, I liked Hannah from the last comic. Now I *really* like this kid. Hope to see more of her in the future.
I think we shall.
I’m reminded of Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space” which makes me think that Tyler would be far better off with the evil, but stable Daphne.
I really shouldn’t be surprised, but holy sh$# the Daphne/Hannah shippers came out of the woodwork fast.
You and me both.
I’ll have to agree with last week’s folks. This could be the start of a beautiful friendship.
It probably will.
Hannah should tempt Daphne further into the dark side, face off against Puck and co, only for Daphne to pull back into the realm of sanity at the last minute.
Hannah is not on the Dark Side. She’s just on the weird side. And I think most characters in this comic are already there.
I know. Knitting, right? 😉
You find it believable because you find it attractive. You want it to be true.
I’m not saying it’s NOT true, I’m just saying it’s not NECESSARILY true. Irregardless, I think she has her number. Hanna or Daph? Yes.
😉
Maybe Hannah is bipolar? It could fit with her last statement.
I don’t think so, though that would realistically make sense. I think whatever is going on with her has more comedy potential.
Game on!
Hey, that’s almost a hockey ref! Good form!
Seriously, I kind of love Hannah. 😀
She doesn’t need to be evil, she’s just … awesome.
She’s not evil. She’s just a little wild. The two are not the same, in my opinion.
Exactly! ^_^
You only think that because it’s true.
Hannah should be put into the characters page. She seems that major.
She shall. Relatively soon.
Cue lt. Col. who goes “Dun dun dunnnnnnnnnnnn”
…Huh. Was not expecting that out of Hannah.
No one expects the Hannah-ish Inquisition.
I tried, man. I really tried there.
In refence to the car wash thing and the $20 being the only existing green paper money in Canada. We could say “all About the Elizabeths.”
Just my view on it.
Just not as cool as Benjamins.
I will, sadly, have to agree with that. Oh well, Canadian money is cooler on the whole.
So, Phoebe slammed on Daphne for making out that sweet blind Hannah was her nemesis, her arch-enemy, totally villianous. She should realise that characters in this comic only get to be right when they predict the worst, and optimists are only kidding themselves. I love that about this comic, btw.
It reflects my life view.
Betsy = nickname for Elizabeth.
“All about the Betsies” might have a gangsta vibe to it.
Well, the actual $100 bills in Canada are brown and have a picture of WWI-era prime minister Robert Borden. So “All about the Bordens” is okay, but not as punchy as Benjamins. Also, it must be noted that the Canadian Mint has been on a campaign of radical change recently where they’ve replaced some of the faces on certain bills due to the problematic old dead white dudes featured on them. (This sort of thing would make America lose its f$%^ing mind, but Canadians are way more receptive to change.) So Borden might not be on the $100 bill for much longer.
In related news, though, the new $10 bill featuring Viola Desmond (basically the Canadian equivalent of Rosa Parks) is actually super awesome. It’s a vertical orientation. That’s right: VERTICAL. ORIENTATION. And it looks awesome. Seriously, Canadian money constantly makes American money look bush league by comparison. If only it were worth as much…
Wow. Considering the women in Tyler’s life, it seems like they’re all in a race to see who can get the honor of writing the chalk outline around his corpse….
Some guys have all the luck.
Yeah….and all of it BAD. I expect that when it finally comes time for him to shuffle off this mortal coil, he’ll look up at the Grim Reaper and his last words will be, “Oh, thank GOD you showed up….”
Won’t it be ironic if a diminutive blonde blind girl turned out to be more wild than the girl who is partly canine? 🙂
Almost guaranteed in this world.
EG, “great minds think alike.” 😉 I am a big fan of irony, it’s a word some say is misused, but words change their meanings. Puck I think, is quite ironic herself, she’s very old, but doesn’t have an “old attitude.” (Such as rigid ideas, lack of imagination, etc.) This makes her an intriguing character.
Either that, or she’s just poorly written and I don’t even make an attempt to depict her as very old. Either or. 😉
