Puck continues, with another joke at the expense of Colin’s facial hair. (Last one, scout’s honour!)
I’m getting the hang of the new visual style. In the old strip, the characters always fell apart (figuratively speaking) when shown in close-ups. I wanted to avoid that off-model nightmare here, and I’m reasonably pleased with the results. I’ve scaled up the detail and shading level with the close-up panels; now I’m just hoping that they don’t look too different from the visual style of the mid shots and long shots.
Oh, and panel three marks the very first time that we actually get a confirmation on Puck’s eye colour. They are (unsurprisingly) green.
In totally unrelated news, my wife is jealous of Puck’s nightie and wishes she knew where she could buy one just like it. I don’t have any answers for her.
Hmm, methinks amnesic Puck would have missed out on Episodes 1-3, so she thinks of Sir Alec Guinness’ Obi-wan instead of Ewan MacGregor’s.
Well … I dunno. If you’re dating from MY graduation, then yes, because I graduated 2001 – one year before Episode 2 (and bearded young Obi-Wan) hit the scene. But who knows with Puck? The timeline’s all confused in relation to the real world. Let’s say that Episode II just came out before she graduated.
Puck looks particularly cute in the last panel, but I couldn’t tell you why.
Agreed, but I couldn’t tell you why either. I was a little shaky on the character models when I restarted the series; I didn’t really get my groove on until after strip 100. Some of the pics (like the last panel here) looked good. Others not so much.
I wonder if it is because she lacks the trademark shading under her nose. Without it her nose appears smaller, and more uplifted ?
Just a WAG.
It’s because she is smiling, in an impish manner.
Totally agree on the smile!
Strange she would say that, since I found Colin’s lack of body-hair rather conspicuous.
Puck has graduated to a very reasonable level of boobage as well.
You called it earlier.
Can’t have too much of a good thang !
I prefer to have exactly the right amount of a good thing, to be honest.
Just refrain from taking the Clothes Iron to her bosom again. It would probably anger her, and Fairies have “powers”, you know.
Robin needs big bewbs, idiot !
(O M G – sorry. What came over me ?)
I know that I’m a late comer to the party and all, but I think I may have a solution for you concerning Puck’s nightie, and your wife’s desire for one like it. Offer to draw one just like it on her, and see if she finds that to be an equitable solution. However, I would highly recommend waiting for her to be in a good mood when you make the offer. Also I have a patent pending on this idea, and reserve all rights to my intellectual property. So make sure that you attribute your use of my property to ComedyHobo…. Unless she gets angry…In that case it was all your idea.
I never draw my wife. It always ends badly.
I think that you misunderstood me. I’m not saying that you should draw her wearing it. I’m saying that you should draw it ON her. As in on her physical body. With markers. Paint would probably be better though. PAINT the nightie ON her body. Physically. IRL. Finger-painting…For grown-ups. And then eat bacon!!
I’m not that talented.
