The truth is revealed about Puck’s employment situation, which a few people were curious about. I’m personally kind of happy that Daphne is now grown up, because it provides Puck with a verbal sparring partner. Colin’s too goofy to hold his own against Puck, and Phoebe? No. Now that Puck and Daphne are (almost) the same size, it seems fair to have them facing off now and then.
Timmy’s Coffee, by the way, is my version of Tim Hortons, a veritable Canadian institution. I practically live off Tim Hortons coffee, but I don’t think I’d like to work there.
In this strip, you finally get a good view of the design on Daphne’s shirt. It’s been there for many strips; it just hasn’t been very visible until now.
Some may note that their house’s exterior siding is the same awful colour as their kitchen. There are a LOT of wartime one-and-a-halves in my city that are actually that colour. I think they were re-sided during the reign of harvest gold in the 70’s, and no one ever bothered to replace the colour.
I wish Tim Hortons existed outside of Canada.
I miss the muffins. =(
Only 500 calories per unit!
Totally worth it.
Tim Hortons does exist outside of Canada. I live in Ohio an there are a bunch of them. FYI, enjoying the series and slowly playing catch up. I’m taking it slow because I want to read your comments.
Well, glad you’re enjoying the archive. There ARE Tim Hortons outside of Canada, but they’re sort of rare and only present in certain areas. Tim’s has been trying to ‘break into’ the American market for years, and they tend to always fail. The market’s already saturated, and they just haven’t been very competitive.
Timmy’s does reasonably well outside Canada in certain places. There are a few in Dubai. The one in Afghanistan was constantly swamped, until the Canadian pulled out of Kandahar. Apparently the best time to get in line in KAF was right after a rocket attack, when the lines would be shorter.
I’ve heard about the Dubai Timmy’s, and the Afganistan one. But I’m assuming it’s Canadian troops and ex-pats that are/were providing the business. Glad I don’t need to worry about rocket attacks at my local Timmy’s.
We had a Tim Hortons built in Grand Rapids, Mich., but the parking lot is too small to fit my tractor/trailer.
Taco Bell did the same thing.
I think they are biased against truck drivers. 🙁
Indeed. I know of few places that have enough room for tractor/trailers around here. Though on major shipping routes, they always find a way.
When my uncle moved to south carolina from Halifax he got to his new house and immedilately went in search of a coffee joint. Lo and behold, a Timmies. He was so exciTed he sent pictures of himself in front of the place to everybody in the family. Love the comic man! Still doing the archibe dive, I have to thank for getting me through finals time. Cheers, another Canadian stuck in the soul suckerng money pit known as university.
Glad you enjoy the comic. And yeah, a Tims in South Carolina is a real rarity. Worthy of photo evidence. Hang in there. University don’t last forever. (For some people, that’s a good thing. For others, not.)
I love how Puck has discovered her ability to turn her ears down when upset. It’s adorable !
(I apologize for having no opinions on Tim Hortons products.)
The expressive ears thing is something I make liberal use of from this point forward.
bint … BINT ?!
A new word to demean women ?
Someone, quick, post it to Donald Trump !!
Ok, ok, too topical.
Delete, pleez.
(LOL)
I love the word ‘bint’, but only because it’s totally foreign to me. It just sounds so twee, though I’ve heard that it has the same level of harshness as the other ‘b’ word in some parts of England. (And in other parts, it’s less offensive, more like ‘chick’, so…)
Cue the Python quote from “Holy Grail”.
Daphne definately got cuter
The original character design was … sort of awkward. And I still do a lot of tweaking of her model from this point forward, but I think it’s generally in the right direction.
Ugly is sometimes popular.
When? I’ve never seen that.
Before thee and me were born. My mom said that to explain all the work they had to do to the house when I was too little to remember it.
