NEW VOTING INCENTIVE! IT’S CHRISTMAS REWIND!!!
December is here and I’m swamped again, but a new voting incentive will be coming (hopefully) later this month! In the meantime, here’s some holiday cheers from the previous years!
As for this comic…
Nothing to say. Too tired. Comic is done, though. That’s something.
Can’t remember if Miranda has spoken before. First words?
She’s said ‘Johpeshi.’ And she’s also said ‘no’ before. So this is just a slight development on those.
That’s good, then. She’s starting with a firm vocabulary. Letting Puck and Colin and the others know who’s in charge here.
And how!
Whatever happened to piggy back rides?
Kid’s gotta be a little bigger for that to work. There’s a definite size ratio you need to get the piggyback working. And it also will utterly destroy your spine after a little while.
Kids say the darnedest things.
I suppose, when you’re high you never.. ever wanna be down.
I see what you did there.
You should be carrying her on your back, less effort on your arms.
Harder to do with a toddler. Kid needs to hang on, and toddlers don’t do anything on command.
Miranda, being heir to and raised by Puck, must be expected to develop a strong will of her own, or perish.
Exactly! Right here!
Also biological child, so half-fairy.
There is one curse that parents bestow upon their children, and it is vicious, because it always manifests itself…
“My you grow up to have children just like yourself.”
we REALLY need to stop wishing this on the next generation, or our species will never survive.
Everyone thinks they’re the obvious manifestation of perfection. Why shouldn’t they leave the world a carbon copy?
Disagree. The alternative of not having children at all is more likely, so survival of our species is better served by continuing wishing children.
Comic being done is definitely something, and a good something it is! Thank you, Gecko 🙂
Sometimes it’s all I can manage. Thanks for that being enough.
I guess she outgrew papooses, huh? Has Puck considered getting a child leash?
Is Buggle back? That is exciting news!
And yeah, leash would be useful. Papooses are only useful when the kid weighs relatively little. Once they go over a certain size, they become very effective at totally throwing your back out.
Good to have you back.
the issue is that any reasonably clever kid can get the leash off. I suppose if one goes to certain kinds of artisans one might be able to persuade them to turn their talent to fixing that, but then CPS calls about child abuse.
hmmm, a good point. I don’t suppose zipping them shut in a stroller would work? (does Puck have a stroller? did they not bring it with them?)
They didn’t bring a stroller. This was obvious foolishness on their part.
Hey Buggle.
WB, Buggle, the peanut gallery missed you!
Dang, I was more popular than I thought! hello everyone!
We all missed you. We bought you a cake. But I ate it. It was delicious. Trust me.
That’s ok, I brought my own. You can’t have any, though. You’ve had enough.
For some children what you need is a choke collar
Samuel Clemens (A.K.A. Mark Twain) once said “It takes three adults to track one two-year-old child, Unfortunately, they come equipped with only two adults.”
At most!
CONCEIVABLE
There’s a certain government agency that would like to talk to you about your child-rearing approach.
Miranda’s pose in panel 4 – she’s Puck’s child, we’re gonna see a lot of that?
Perhaps more? We shall see.
Totally Puck’s kid. Getting the attitude down and everything. Eventually, she’ll learn to be cute with it and then how to not be.
You know, have we considered that being a primordial being of spirit, Satan doesn’t HAVE a surname. So Phoebe would have her mother’s.
You might be onto something. In both cases.
“When the queen turns tyrant, rebellions emerge.” Yes, however. Puck or Miranda, who is the queen, who is the rebel? Really, it’s not very clear!
That’s when you know you have a REAL power struggle on your hands.
the only certain thing is that Colin will be the loser.
With certain certainty.
It’s interesting how parents who say they wish their children’s children to be like their children is something of a curse, rarely reflect on how they were as children.
A comic strip from the 1920s, a mother talking to her little boy. “Behave, or when you grow up, your children will misbehave!” The boy thinks about this, smiles: “Oh mother, you’ve given yourself away!”
With the dog costume, Miranda looks adorably like Daphne did when she was younger, and still calling herself “Dap”
Slightly intentional? Maybe? I remember that. Sorta.
this strip gets “don’t bring me down” stuck in my head
Classic ELO.
The Return of Kroka Noka is another seasonal delight. Like its spokesmodel, it is an intriguing possibility, but a little bit scary.
Fear is at the core of attraction sometimes. Most times.
*gasping and panting like I’ve just run a marathon*
I made it! *gasp* I made *pant* it to the *gasp, pant* most recent *rasp* comic! I need to sit down…
It’s not a race! Especially because now you need to wait for a whole week between updates. But thanks so much for reading through the comic! I appreciate your dedication.
It may not be a race but it’s better than actually doing my schoolwork like a responsible person… or a reasonable person…
also, I didn’t speedrun (speedread?) through the whole comic in one sitting or something (I’m not THAT crazy); I kinda read a bunch instead of doing schoolwork a DIFFERENT year (grade 9? grade 10?) then my (school) computer when stupid and wouldn’t let me visit the cite anymore, forgot it existed THEN got bored and started looking through my bookmarks and found it again
geez I didn’t realize how long or complicated this story was, whoops
Well, it was good story of procrastination. And I take pride in facilitating the avoidance of constructive work. So I heartily approve!
How touching! Miranda’s just like her Mom! 😉
Tragically … yes.
