NEW VOTING INCENTIVE! IT’S CHRISTMAS REWIND!!!
December is here and I’m swamped again, but a new voting incentive will be coming (hopefully) later this month! In the meantime, here’s some holiday cheers from the previous years!
As for this comic…
Hey. At least she’s self-aware.
Is this an accurate assumption of an approximately close definition?
Yes.
Perhaps
P: It’s your fault for marrying me!
C: (Not stupid enough to answer that one.)
Not married yet, technically (Depending on whether or not “Common Law Marriage” is a thing where they live).
Right, don’t let the refrigerator run away from you there, eh?
There are SOME rights, but not the whole enchelada.

Stupid. But not THAT stupid.
Problem Solving for Management
Step 1: Panic.
Step 2: Assign blame.
Puck should be in management, she’s got it town to a T.
Fools share features with the foolish, certainly.
“Who’s the more foolish? The fool or the fool who follows him?” – Obi Wan
Both can be equally foolish. In this case especially.
What about Step 4: Profit?
There’s profit involved? I gotta get in on that!
It’s their parents’s fault, for having them in the first place.
Not wrong.
I don’t know whether Puck is being fair to herself here – she has her faults as a parent but then again most parents do – but I suppose she screwed up big time and needs a reason to blame someone else – which is not great parenting but she is in a panic.
I feel the punchline in panel 3 was the best. Panel 4 did not really add much, but it’s a 4 panel strip so what can you do?
I like the word ‘wino’. And multiple punchlines.
When it comes to webcomics, what do wino 😉
Oh you.
Bottle o’ wine…

When I was a single-digit-aged kid in the 80s, I had a cassette tape of “hit songs of the 50s” which were a lot of fun for a kid to sing… but not always age appropriate. This was one of my favourites.
Mom made me promise not to sing it in anyone else’s car but ours.
Dad thought it was hilarious.
This is classic parent mental snap — been there, done that. You lose your kid and you freaking lose your mind until they are found.
Yeah, it’s a certain mode of thought. Or lack thereof. Hard to be circumspect in such a situation.
You’re supposed to be bloody obvious so your kid can find you.
Probably true, it does work.
Another Sam Clemens quote (and many other people):
“Insanity is inherited… you get it from your children.
And before anyone says Sam didn’t write THAT much…
A book publishing company (I forget which one) tried to compile all his quotes/speeches.
They gave up after filling eight books.
Just put him and Oscar Wilde together and they already said everything that could ever be conceivably said ever.
I think Colin’s more of a distal cause.
But that’s not the point. The point is that Puck can’t have it be her fault.
You got the point nicely.
I’ve known/heard of/been that person from time to time.
Is half-fairy even in danger in forest?
Yes!!!
If the mini-series ‘Tru-Blood’ can be trusted, there is no longer any truly ‘full-blooded’ fairies and even ‘half-fairy’ blood is like super-powerful (and super-attractive) catnip for vampires.
I know we have not seen vampires in this comic, yet.
We HAVE seen other supernatural/un-natural critters, tho.
Um . . . Puck, this would probably be a good time to use your magickal powers. (Magickal, not magical; the added k indicates this magick is way more magick than magic!)
I’m not sure she’s got any of those left. Probably used them all up in the 60’s.
It was the time for that.
True, the 1860s were a rather awry time. ACW, creation of Canada, Taiping Rebellion, Meiji Restoration, Danish-Prussian War, Mexican Revolution . . . . . . . and Puck all through all that saying “Now come on, soon as I show up, BANG! Up comes trouble! Seriously, give it a rest, somebody!”
Sure it wasn’t the 1760’s?
What was the last thing she used her powers for?
Probably used up in an attempt to ascertain smoked meats.
They are good.
Colin’s clean-shaven face is cursed. Please give him a five o’clock shadow soon.
And lemme guess, Miranda’s going to make friends with the monster like in all the Bigfoot movies?
Shh. Don’t spoil it.
And what do you mean ‘cursed’? You just can’t handle his handsomeness!
I know I can’t.
He looks like a ten-year-old boy, not a father of two. It’s disturbing.
They’re never gonna get to the convention, are they?
Father of two?
I don’t think Daphne is hie genetic daughter.
If you had said “daddy to two”, I would have agreed.
_
I know that sounds a little silly, but my mother was married 4 times, so I wound up putting definite definitions on “father” (gene donor to achieve child’s conception) and “dad/daddy” (who actually spent time/attention to raise child)
The language is complicated and changes over time.
Ehhhhhhhhhhh my older sister is technically my half-sister and she always calls our Dad her father and her bio-dad by his first name. As Daphne doesn’t have any other parents (for now) and Colin’s been with her adoptive mother for as long as she’s been with her, I’d qualify that as him being her dad. Even if they don’t say so.
I’d qualify that too.
He’s a father of one.
Daphne’s only Puck’s daughter and that’s by adoption. Yes, I understand that being a male romantic and social partner of her mother makes him something of a father figure and if it were someone OTHER than Daphne and Colin it might matter. But as it is, do you really think Daphne ever treated him like anything other than a way older brother?
My first ex’s daughter (not by me) fondly refers to me as her “father-figure”. It makes us both happy. Different families use different words. Sometimes, words are just words.
Words are words. And sometimes words are just incomprehensible grunts that carry meaning all the same.
“My first ex’s daughter (not by me) fondly refers to me as her “father-figure”. It makes us both happy. Different families use different words. Sometimes, words are just words.”
True. But we’re talking Daphne here. Do you really see her doing that? I don’t think she’s a bad person per se, she mostly aspires to petty crime. But this is definately not her style.
Daphne loves Colin, in her chaotic-evil way. Yes, she is disdainful and disrespectful – that’s part of being CE and also being a teen – but if she were part cat instead of part canine, she would definitely bring him a dead mouse.
Speaking of part cat … yowza! Votie Emily makes the case for and against wrapping your gifts!
“Daphne loves Colin, in her chaotic-evil way.”
But not as a dad. More like a much older brother.
Given the Canada’s Funderland episode, you would think Colin would pay more attention whenever he puts Miranda down
One needs brain cells to retain learning from a previous instance.
Woah! Emily Votey!
Wrapping, unwrapping, wrapping, unwrapping 😉
It’s a Christmas tradition.
Where’s Papa Shnordf when yiu need him? I’m sure he could find Miranda lickety split.
Not sure. He always seems to show up when you need him, though…
Emily the cat girl plays her role purr.fectly! 😉
