HALLOWEEN INCENTIVE ON TWC IS HERE!!!
It’s a return to form as we explore the types of ridiculous costumes you might never find at the local Spirit Halloween store!
As for this comic…
I’m tired. People were sick this weekend and it’s Canadian Thanksgiving, so I’m a little worn out. But comic is done.
People will take it personally. I here Bruno does some shopping here.
I hope people feel better and that you had a happy Thanksgiving.
He only does it as a tax dodge.
All the best fashion iconoclasts have used thrifting as their secret weapon. And thanks. I survived the weekend. Hopefully I won’t get sick too.
Fingers crossed.
I’m gonna pop some tags! Only got twenny dollars in my pocket…
Heh. Beat you to the reference. Nice choice on the lyrics.
At least you can find things at a reasonable price at a thrift store…
Indeed. A shockingly cheap price, even.
Didn’t Tracee grow up poor? She should already know this.
She does. But she doesn’t want to accept the reality that this is what she’s returned to.
Me doth think that someone just earned a Macklemoor CD for their Christmas stocking.
And I think that it would be hilarious if she embraced some of those aspects again. Especially if they were found at the thrift store. 2 Broke Girls.
This Tracee must change. She shan’t remain the same.
How crazy would it be if some of her stuff was on the discount rack because oof the sexual tackiness it oozed.
Great work on all the expressions, especially the ultra-EW in panel 3.
I actually had to redraw that third panel. My first draft had it framed like panel one or four, as a wide flat shot. But I felt the angle I used in the second draft gave us a better look at the ‘ew’ face.
Good choice.
I enjoyed perusing the knickknack shelves.
They gots some good knickknacks.
Someone is about to discover the truth about thrift/Consignment/Goodwill/Salvation Army clothing stores, especially those operating just on the edge of the “good” neighborhoods.
The truth is that the local thrift stores generally only carry top-shelf goods. The crummy stuff gets shipped out to international markets for donation. So yeah, the stuff on sale is both shockingly cheap and in shockingly good condition. Most of the time.
Think of the joy of discovery, of a top designer at a tenth the price! Besides, consider it a challenge, to look great in cheap clothes! (Besides, more than likely Satan’s ex-staff have already donated her clothes there . . . . .okay, so that’s not a good thing, buying your own clothes back, but it’s something!)
I think Satan’s staff would sooner burn old clothing than donate.
Excellent point, though they still might, for the tax break and also to mock Tracee with it. Evil does good when evil considers it a benefit to them.
Oh, bother.
Another excellent incentive. Funny how Tracee becomes more attractive, the dirtier she gets.
Funny that.
Don’t forget, Tracy, at the moment, you exist one level below being “Poor” called “Entirely Broke”. Zero income, zero assets, zero credit. You will be borrowing money in order to shop at the Thrift store.
(Tempted as I am to slid being heavily in debt below that, just for the sake of mathematical accuracy… in the current era, people can be 10s of thousands in the red while still having a good paying job and decent quality of life. Net worth isn’t as good a measure as it used to be.)
Hey, in today’s day and age, you borrow a million dollars and you’re a millionaire.
There’s a movie from the 30’s or 40’s about that. I think it’s called Edward, my Son.
I quote an Andy Capp cartoon= If yer owe fifty pounds, yer a failure. If yer owe 5000, yer a businessman. If yer owe five million, yer a government- I’m On Me Way!
Smart man, that ole Andy Capp.
So, about the “honeypot” incentive why is Tracy literally dirty.
It’s messily applied makeup. She’s not actually Pooh-colored.
Sorry the spray on tan confused me.
Uh-oh, Puck’s (in)famous temper has appeared. But Tracee shouldn’t worry. I’ve been to thrift stores, and there’s some surprisingly good clothes there. (The ones I bought have mysteriously disappeared, but it was several years ago.) 😕
Always finds to be found!
