Puck is a weekly webcomic that, in the words of one fan, is "mostly irreverent humor concerning a pretty girl with freckles and a hot she-devil who wears fan-service costumes." Surreal fantasy slice-of-life crazy-type stuff about the world's funniest redhead! Updates Tuesday.
You know, I’ve read studies (okay, okay, watched science vids on Youtube) that said that laughing is primarily a social action. Which might explain why I almost never ‘laugh out loud’ when reading stuff at home. I’ll smile up a storm, but real laugh? Almost never, really.
I haven’t read my Shakespeare in a while, but I seem to recall Puck being the trickster of the story. How is it that in these comics, she always seems to be on the wrong end of the pranks?
Karma, I suppose; penance for centuries of mischief?
How is it in these comics that Puck, ancient fairy of lore, is seemingly not ancient, nor a fairy, nor part of any established lore? This is a question to which I have no good answer.
You are correct. I did not see this coming. And it’s GLORIOUS!
That’s … one word for it. I would more go with ‘horrifying’.
Hmmm… Gloriously horrifying, or horrifyingly glorious?
You make the call.
Do we have to choose?
Nay, my friend. You can have your cake, and Edith, too.
Oops. Thought I hit “reply”, but… didn’t.
Be careful what you wish for, sometimes the gods are mean enough to give it to you. Heh.
That’s what keeps gods amused.
Ha ha ha! You have no idea…
You’d think that an ancient fairy of lore would know this already.
She’s surprisingly out to lunch on most counts.
The funniest strip yet ! Yes, really. I audibly chuckled.
(I’m no hardcore grump – I am easily amused – it’s just that an actual audible laugh is rare.)

Have not heard that. Makes sense.
I’ve been very careful with what I wish for since I read “The Monkey’s Paw”.
Howlie.
Isn’t that what Hawaiians call white folks?
I wouldn’t know, never having been to Hawaii. But if it is, that’s insanely awesome.
I double checked.
It is.
And it’s hilarious*. 😀
*how come we don’t have non-funny sounding stereotype names?
Yeah, it is what they call white folks. Been myself, 3 years. Of course, it’s a derogative term to them… meaning “no soul”.
That’s … less hilarious.
I lived there too. During ‘Nam. Story i heard: hawaiian girls really go for the haole guys.
Didnt find that to be true. Whatever. I was there for the surfing. Cue the music…Charlie dont surf.
It’s Puck’s drooping ears in the last panel that got me.
I like to make the most of the ears. If they’re there, the ears might as well pay their way.
