NEW WINTERFEST CELEBRATION!!!
Patrons voted for a more winter-themed selection than an overt Christmas character this year, but it was a fun one to make. Vote on TWC to take a look!
VOTE TO DECK HALLS AND YULE TIDES!!!
As for this comic…
After tech problems last week (which are still sadly ongoing), I encountered a new challenge this week: falling deathly ill! Much of this comic was constructed while I was was in a half-conscious daze, alternating between fitful bouts of sleep and comic-making. All that is to say this comic might not be up to my usual standards. Blame the illness.
Get mad at him for having never played hockey.
That is a real cause for Canadian anger.
Get mad at him for not liking The Tragically Hip.
Which means she will get mad at ME. The horror…
I like the Hip. That is one Canadian marker I actually possess.
Sorry to hear you were sick, but the comic didn’t suffer at all.
Satan and Tracee are settling in nicely… too nicely. Hmmm.
You don’t want to settle into this house too much. It’s a bad thing. And thanks. I think I’m mostly on the mend.
Puck and Tracee becoming friends might very well be one of the signs of the impending apocalypse….
Or the plot premise of a new Canadian sitcom.
I feel like we’ve had a few of those ride this way already…
“Oy!” is usually my chime-in.
Also.. I see that look of pride on Tracee. The kid is learning.
Inspiring children to emulate her. It’s not really a great thing here.
Also, hope you’re doing better. I dodged my sick bullets so far.
I’ve been dodging illness for the past four years and I’ve had a good track record, but it failed me this time.
The Dreaded Lurgy comes for us all eventually.
As long as you don’t end up with Spike’s epitaph you should be alright.
I’m sorry you’re sick. The comic’s fine.
Yeah, Puck’s toootally able to find a way to be mad at her man. The only issue is, when she’ll stop. 🙂
Yeah, gotta watch when you start that boulder rolling down the hill. It might never stop.
Seems half the cartoonists I read have been sick lately. Hang in there is pretty much all I can come up with.
(Is that Miranda’s first word?)
Nope, “Jopeshi” was.
I can’t remember *every* bit of the continuity. Some of it just slips my mind.
I can’t remember every bit of continuity and I wrote the dang thing.
ALMOST sounds as if you need a “Puck Wiki”…
It would be wonderful, but the labor involved in its creation is a terrifying thought.
Many, many things are going around. It’s been a pretty disease-filled holiday season. And seeing as I work in a school, I’m kind stuck in the epicentre of illness.
I work at a university. I fear my turn is coming.
I recently read an article that lockdown kind of reduced everyone’s immunity to the common crud, so we all have to get it again. :/
my body did well with the lockdown but since I have few friends and am somewhat of a shut-in the lockdown didn’t change my life all that much. lol
Real talk: since the pandemic, my family has been consistently wearing N95 masks in all public places. And while I did that, I didn’t once get sick. Those masks work. I went the better part of five years without a single sick day. But I hate those masks and I’d started not wearing the mask as much. And this is what I get.
“But I hate those masks and I’d started not wearing the mask as much. And this is what I get.”
Don’t worry. You’ll get better. And a lot of people feel yucky too.
Hard to avoid catching something. Whatever you catch, you don’t want to catch whatever I got. It’s been six days and I still need some heavy meds to even get out of bed.
Kind of adorable that Miranda tries to repeat what Tracee said. Get well soon as your health is more important than your comic.
She’s a fast learner. That’s a bad thing in this house. And thanks. I’m mostly on the mend now, I think.
Sick at holiday time is the worst! Hope you feel better.
The art certainly didn’t suffer. I expected to see a third eye, a clothing continuity error, but nothing. You even added Miranda’s very subtle tugging on Trader’s skirt to be picked up. Well done.
Sick at holiday time. Now I’m just hoping it doesn’t spread to the rest of the family. Glad the comic didn’t suffer.
How the hell I put “Trader” for “Tracee” I’ll never know. Maybe Satan made me do it….
Well, ‘Tracee’ is not a real word. Or even a real name. Autocorrect is just trying to help you.
Don’t listen to him. Autocorrect is drunk again. I’d advise searching it for bottles, but it’s likely too late.
The Devil and Tracee seem to be acclimating well to becoming functionally poor. Hopefully, he’s able to pay back Macaulay Culkin in a couple of months and be in a position where he can afford a home nearby, so his daughter can get her bedroom back.
I think the general sense of sloth that has set in will keep him from taking such decisive action. They’re stuck with them now. Unless they can find a way to fix the situation…
Tracee, Puck, Daphne, Colin, Satan, and neighborly crack dealers – That’s a hell of a village in which to be raising Miranda. Funny enough, having met Colin’s family, it could be worse!!
Good thing there’s Phoebe.
It could be worse. Indeed.
… are we getting into spoiler territory?
(Also, sorry you’re sick, hope you will get better for holidays.)
My hope at this point is that no one else falls dreadfully ill. But time shall tell.
The future Empress of Earth will always remember how those at the low economic scale were also often the nicest. Tremble, Bay Street! She’s On Her Way!
Terrifying.
Happy Solstice to all!
And to you. May happiness abound and explode into happy fireworks.
Happy Solstice!
Happy and safe “Dies Natalis Solis Invicti” to one and all.
A “Hoppy blue beer” for the celebration following week as well.
EG, recover from your illness, that is an order. 😉
Colin! Stay away from this conversation – nothing you say can make it turn out better for you!
Oh well, too late. When I was your age, I made that mistake too.
If he were smarter, I’d have fewer opportunities for humor.
Asking Puck to get angry is like asking Santa Claus to get generous. I don’t know what happens next, but I’m accustomed to seeing her do exactly that, and no reason why she’ll change anytime soon. BTW, I love the solstice because that’s when days start getting longer. 🙂
Nicely put. And solstice marks the start of the lengthening days, which is dearly needed. I’m tired of it getting dark at 4:00 pm.
