Fun with cheezies. And video games. If anyone’s wondering, Colin and Daphne seem to be playing some incarnation of Crimson Skies. That game kicked (for the PC anyway), though few people seem to remember it.
Another example of normalcy all being a matter of relativity.
I’m STILL trying to find a good copy of the PC game. The two I’ve managed to get from the Internets have been beat up all to Hell 🙁 I did like the story-line of the console game though, and it’s still one of my favorite settings ever.
I only have an illegally burned copy with a code cracker. Which dates back to the days when I worked at a computer store and had a never-ending supply of illicit computer stuff. But the game was amazing. Horribly hard at times, but nonetheless amazing.
I feel, as a man, it is in some way our responsibility to our own gender, to, perhaps a couple times a month, firmly force the lady in our life to consider the question;
“WHY do I regularly have sex with this person?”
^_^
It’s when they decide they know everything about us and how we operate that the trouble starts.
Oh, they know. They know.
It’s not whether they know or not, it’s when they DECIDE they know that the real trouble begins…
We do that just by being men.
Oh I think I played that game! Once.. at my nephews’… networked. Good game, really wanted to play it again, forgot all about it until just now. Story of my life.
It was a classic. That no one ever played. Which I guess means it’s not a classic, but it was one I personally quite liked.
The entire concept for Crimson Skies was brilliant, but it did require a few things from the audience, like understanding how this alternate universe diverged from real history. It also required a much better marketing plan.
Personally, I think I would have enjoyed it if I could have afforded it. These days, I might find the boardgame version more interesting, since I’m trying to get more face-to-face socializing.
I LOVED loved Crimson Skies. Great concept, great alternate history, great planes, and zeppelins! ZEPPELINS!!! For me, it was a ‘What’s not to love?’ scenario. Plus the PC game was cool, in that it was basically a flight simulator with slight modifications to make it a bit more user-friendly. It was also hard as hell. By the fourth or fifth level, the plane you chose became critical, and by the middle of the game, the only way to stand a chance was to build your own customized plane with some unique specs that worked with your flying style. Great game. Never played the board game, but again, the world was so rich that I’d be on board. No pun intended.
Dragons beat Zeppelins, cuz dragons can breathe fire. ‘Course in skyrim you cant fly the damn dragons, so whats the point?
Better to have the “Really useful dragons” mod.
What about a zeppelin dragon? Or a dragon zeppelin? I think engineering could improve upon the potential of both by combining.
Well, when you kill one of them, they do kina burn like the Hindenburg, so thats close.
Oh, the dragonity. Or zeppelinity.
