So this isn’t exactly a new development, but I’m only drawing attention to it now. For the past year or so, I’ve been slowly uploading the older Puck comics to Webtoons. For those who aren’t familiar with it, Webtoons is (primarily) a mobile app that currently dominates the webcomic world.
The main reason I’m putting up the comic there is the fact that their platform is so ridiculously mobile-friendly. In an era where most of my audience is accessing my comic via their phone, this site really isn’t cutting it for some people. I wanted to have an option that’s accessible and appealing for the teeny tiny screens that people now love so much.
So if you’re already a Webtoons user or if you’re just plain curious, go and check it out. I’m slowly uploading all of the older comics at a ridiculously high resolution, with some tweaked and improved visuals for maximum reading pleasure. Give it a glance, drop a favorable rating and follow along!
And don’t worry: this original site isn’t going anywhere. It’s still the primary home of the comic, and I’ll be uploading all new material here first.
You can view it through your browser here but it’s better on the Webtoon app.
I can believe that Webtoons is optimised for phones, because the images are freaking huge on my desktop, and no way to adjust them.
It’s not (repeat NOT) for desktops. It’s for vertically oriented phones. And you can only hold your phone vertically with Webtoon. It’s a specific format for a specific device. And that has made it the single most successful comic platform ever.
I get by (I follow some comics there that I don’t know any other location for), but I do a lot of scrolling.
It’s rough on a desktop platform, primarily because of the vertical orientation. The platform’s structure is actually wonderfully suited to Puck, because (by sheer chance) each of my comic’s panels is pretty much the exact dimensions of a phone screen. So you scroll down, revealing each panel one at a time, and if anything it makes the joke panels have more punch than in a usual layout because the gag is actually physically hidden from you until you get to it. On a desktop, though, you’re stuck looking at half a panel. It’s dumb.
I’m glad to hear the good news. My cellphone is my only web source nowadays. Happy Groundhog Day! 🙂
As it is for most, I’d say. We’re not updated all the way yet, but we will be eventually. Hopefully you like the platform!
As a huge fan and user of webtoons this is awesome! I’ve already subbed, and started rereading and liking every comic.
Well, glad it works for you. Just thought it would be more convenient for some.
New stuff had BETTER come here first.
Well, I’m still a good two hundred strips behind on Webtoons, so yeah.
🙂
Where on any platform can I post pics ?
I dunno. Have you tried social media?
I have some true, bizarre, and totally clean pics.
Of denizens I co-inhabit with. Human and otherwise.
They may harm some pysches, however.
Tail-less Cats may offend some.
