For the first time in a LONG time, someone other than me drew a pic of Puck! This charming image of Puck on the beach (complete with her trademark enormous beach hat) comes from Lirvilas, creator of the comic Grinders. (Be aware that it runs a little … spicier than Puck, shall we say, so be forewarned. Fun stuff, though.)
And as always, if anyone else out there feels a burning desire to draw any of the Puck characters, I will gladly share and give the appropriate shout-out. Just saying.
Very well done! And a nice reminder it’s ( meteorological ) summer!
We need more summer in our hearts.
You know, if you go down to Hutch’s (mentioned in canon before), and walk out onto the beach, you could look out over Lake Ontario and get a similar view, especially with all the forest fire smoke in the air these days. You are definitely not going to see Burlington from there, let alone downtown Toronto.
Unfortunately, the last time I was there, there was blocks of ice being pushed up on-shore and the wind was cold enough to discourage walking along the paved path at the top of the beach.
Was just down at Hutch’s last weekend. It was crazy windy and the waves were huge. That’s rare on Lake Ontario. But that was before the smoke rolled in.
How bad was it up there in your area?
The smoke is inconsistent. There’s no fires anywhere near me, nor will there be. Southern Ontario is too wet for that. But the fires from way up north will blow down depending on the wind’s direction, so sometimes the skies are clear, and other times you can barely go outside. Fun times.
Yeah, I can definitely correlate. I now know how my mom felt wearing an oxygen tank into a bingo hall to volunteer. They only had about 1/8 of the table space for non smokers. And mom was an ex smoker. Dad gotdown to a few packs a week. But he couldn’t kick the habit.
I thought I recognized that style.
Indeed you did.
is this part of the sexy summer swapmeet?
Nope. This was just a very kind gift.
ah, the misunderstanding is on me. I saw your comic mentioned in that but upon revisiting the site it’s under “from previous years” alongside grinders
Yeah, they never seem to take your name off the list. A little silly.
The best thing about owning tatty furniture is using it to found out which guests are snobs. Then it becomes clear who not to invite next time. 🙂
This is true wisdom.
Please pardon my bad English. I meant “find out.” 🙂
