NEW(ISH) VOTING INCENTIVE! WHOLE LOTTA DC!!!
I ran out of time to generate a full-on new voting incentive last week because I was on vacation, but I did have time to assemble a group shot of the JLA cosplay experience and even throw in a batch of new jokes!
VOTE BEFORE ZACK SNYDER STICKS A ‘V’ IN IT!
As for the comic…
All parents are incompetent when it comes right down to it. Some of our children just announce it to the world in a louder fashion than others.
Papa Schmorf, Papa Schmorf
Where is Lt. Worf to trim your bread
You made my baby cry,
Leave now before it is you my wife spies.
Touching little quatrain. You have the gift.
First AND fifty-first.
I think Colin will have to take Miranda to Puck and Phoebe.
The TWC website is not working for me at the moment.
It does go down sometimes.
It looks like’s Puck’s version of the Legion of Doom has managed to use their spaceship’s time travel capabilities to toss Gekko’s TWC Voting incentive into a weekly recursive loop !!! (I am sure I saw this last week.)
Is there no end to their villainy?
Well, sometimes villainy wins out, man.
In the voting thing – do I just confirm the image name and click?
I don’t have to register there or anything?
Also; Aww, maaaan! Now the “Next” button don’t work. 🙁
You just confirm the image and click. There’s no registering. They just have you click on the right image to confirm you’re human and not a bot.
Or just not a very good bot.
It’s very, very easy to bypass, I’ve heard. Which makes it even harder for honest webcomickers like me to stay high up the list.
“Now you see that evil will always triumph, because good is dumb.”
… up again now, and no I don’t recognise Puck’s costume. She doesn’t look like Hawkgirl(woman), Rima the Jungle Girl, or Jayna. I’m going from Wikipedia, because I never saw this show.
You are right. It seems that the Martian Manhunter might be an artistic license.
It’s supposely “Miss Martian” The niece (I think) of the Martian Manhunter. But what are “Miss Martian” and Supergirl doing in the “Superfriends “Justice League? God Knows…
My theory is that Puck and Daphne are actually the “Wonder Twins” that have shapeshifted themselves into “cooler” superheroes, because if anyone was worse in the Superfriends…
okay, there was Apache Chief, and Samurai, and that dog, and that other dude, okay, you get my drift…
Super Friends was actually WAY better than the Filmation DC show that preceded it. I’ve watched all of them on DVD. Painful. And I forgot all about Apache Chief.
As bad as that Filmation stuff was compared to anything HB was pumping out at the time, Marvel had a bunch of five shows – Iron Man, Sub-Mariner, Thor and the one which sucked the most of any cartoon show ever made – the Hulk. The fifth? Well, the animation was as bad as the other three Marvel cartoons but everyone wished that the theme song was used to open the Tobey Maguire Spider Man movies…
(You’re singing that song now, right?)
Hey, don’t badmouth the Spider-man cartoon. Made in Toronto by the same studio that made Rocket Robin Hood, my all-time favorite stupid cartoon show from the late 60’s!
Do yourself a favor ElectricGecko, if you haven’t seen the New Adventures of the Wonder Twins, do so. Cartoon Network had them made to poke fun at Superfriends and they did an amazing job. Funniest stuff to ever come out of that show hands down.
Rocket Robin Hood…. Oh, God!!! (Shakes Head) Well, could have been worse, could have been The Mighty Hercules…
Well, it’s actually NOT a Super Friends outfit. She’s dressed as Miss Martian, Martian Manhunter’s niece, and Martian Manhunter didn’t even appear in the Super Friends show.
Boy George on the A-tean reruns, activate.
Yeah, good luck finding that in the middle of the amusement park. I don’t think Colin is the cellphone type, but if he were, he’d be smart to have the show loaded up on it at all points in time.
Yeah, at least that one.
“How do I make it better? How?” is the universal cry of poppas everywhere.
And I believe the answer is always “Wa-a-a-a-ah!”
It’s a classic exchange.
I do not see shortcomings as much as inexperience.
If Colin were making Miranda cry through neglect or on purpose to amuse himself, or if he failed to know what to do when she was the latest of a large brood, then it would be shortcomings.
Right now, it might be a solid move for Colin to sing to his baby and hold her close. ^_^
I think he’s more likely to just keep panicking. Sometimes shortcomings are the same thing as stupidity. Sometimes.
Maybe an epic case of gas…
I feel strongly that asking why the baby is crying is akin to asking why that tropical storm blew in. Just tie stuff down and wait for it to pass. Forget causation.
Can’t calm a tropical storm down with a hug, a pacifier and a favourite Teddy, though. ^_^
I vote for “she’s freaking out because of the big scary Shnorf hovering over her”.
That would probably be a good vote.
Change the Shnorf to my best friend’s husband and it basically sums up the first time I had to babysit someone…
As for the “all parents are incompetent when it comes down to it,” I (sadly) have to say that I agree on it.
Possible reasons (from the top of my head):
Gas
Lots of gas
Epic case of gas
Did I guess gas already?
Or possibly wanting to burp. I dunno.
Getting help from a mascot is… Unique. I still don’t trust them.
Mr Papa Schnorf, if you’re not here to sing the theme song of the show you’re representing, you may want to hit the road… (still feel happier every time I hear its real-life counterpart. The fact that I don’t have kids, therefore not being forced to listen to it on repeat, may be the reason why).
Side-note: I believe there’s a typo in the Jolly Green Snorf’s bubble: “You’re don’t” just doesn’t look nice to me.
There is (was) indeed a typo. Which I and my keen-eyed wife missed. Thank you for telling me.
Oh, and if you love a certain theme song, then you’ll love it even more in techno: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nAbYh0LWwtM
Nnnope. I don’t care for techno to begin with, and in this specific case, you can add the nostalgia filter: this is not the version with which I grew up. But thanks to you I made the effort to look for it ^^
Heh. Well, that Italian techno Smurfs song remix is, in my personal opinion, the soundtrack to hell, so I don’t blame you.
It does give me a urge to punch someone, so I guess the hellspawns would love to use it as their musical background while stabbing the damned…
Keep up the good work on Puck.
And this is why I’m glad that I can’t have kids. Trying to translate “baby” to English is damn near impossible if you’re not the baby’s mom. 😛
Colin really needs to quiet Miranda down or people will start complaining.
Papa Shnorf can Shuck it.
I believe the technical term is ‘shnuck’, actually.
I’ll bet Miranda wants her mommy.
Kudos on Colin’s expression in panel 3; it caused me to feel bad for him and snort into my tea!
I know the expression well from making it so many times in my own life.
Hopefully no feminists storm by and kidnap Miranda from Colin*
*based on a real life situation. A man took his child to the park and a feminist stormed over. Snatched up the child. Called the man a pedophile and walked off.
She’s in jail, now (or was – I’m looking up the article, now).
((can’t find it, but, wow! There are a lot of “beating” articles on Google))
Well, ca-razy people abound. And now that you hit the end of the archive, you’ll sadly have to wait forever to find out what happens.
Maaaan!
I wonder if Miranda will look like when she’s older.
Looking back over the series, I have to admit I’m a little surprised you never made a joke about jaundice.
A missed opportunity?
Only time will tell if Miranda will look like Puck when she’s older.
Says the guy whose job/career is a theme park mascot…might want to mind your business on this one, champ.
That’s a helpless feeling for men. I certainly don’t miss those days.
I wish I could miss these days. My youngest is six and I still have to deal with daily public meltdowns or misbehavior. Though with my daughter I really do think I’ll be dealing with meltdowns and misbehavior until she’s moved out.
LOL! Get that creepy snorf away and I’d bet money that Miranda would become a lot LESS DISTRESSED. I know I would.
Creepy mascots bring out the screamiest in everyone, I’d say.
… I *just* now noticed, Colin’s beard is a different color than the rest of his hair.
Yeah, it’s slightly darker.
