IT'S JULY! NEW VOTING INCENTIVE!!! Patrons had a bunch of choices of 'C' words and they chose 'cabaret'. Delightfully dated. VOTE FOR VINTAGE VARIETY!!! In other news... First, this comic is brought to you again by the good people who support me on Patreon, with a special shout-out to The Lurker, Paul Gabbard, Jeremy, and alphanor, who ALL became Mayor of Pucksburg for this month! It's a title that comes with rewards, including actual original comic art getting mailed to you. If you're interested in keeping the Puck comics flowing, and maybe gaining some fun perks, CHECK OUT THE PATREON!!! As for this comic... For those that don't remember, this is Bethany Balmoral. She is a problem. I don't know why she smells like Little Caesar's crazy bread, but it just felt right. (Yes, I have to add her to the character list, along with a bunch of other people. I'm dragging my heels on it.)

Oh hell. I did see that coming. Just what are Colin’s stats?

    • ElectricGecko

Colin’s stats? Like, D&D stats? Bad. Low constitution, low dexterity, low everything.

      • Pat

        Height, shoulder width.. I’m guessing that he’s around 5 foot 6 inches (in) and a medium frame. Let’s see. 5 × 12 = 60. 60 + 6 = 66 in. 1 in = 2.54 centimeters (cm) so, 66 in/1 in × 2.54 cm = 167.64 cm. Round up to 168 cm. Divide by 100 cm/meter (m) and we get 1.68 m tall.

        • ElectricGecko

Dude, way too low. Colin is 5’10”, probably 185-190 lbs. Cy is 6’1” or so. Puck, Phoebe and Emily are all around 5’8”. Daphne and Tracee are 5’4”. Hannah and Bethany are both around five foot nuthin.

  • Marcus Martin

I have to say that Bethany hides herself very well. That unpredictability could come in handy when the time is right.

  • Pat

I think that she’d be chaotic lawful with a bias bordering (dangerously teetering) on her self interest.

  • Pat

We doesn’t he just have her permanently trespassed from the store?

  • Lokitsu

Cy can smell the crazy coming from a mile away.

  • Well that explains the Pikachu (ear tips) we saw last time.

  • Emily is being unfair here. Typhoid Mary had been told several times that she was a carrier, and continued to slip away and find employment as, iirc, a cook. She killed a lot of people.

  • Stephen

    Is she pregnant?

  • Colin seemed just large enough…but haven’t any big fat guys made it in there lately? The bigger, the better to hide behind.

  • Justin

Right, well, this will be entertaining at least, if annoying.

I do enjoy the display case in front of the desk. Do I have it correct?
Snorlax, Tardis, ST:TNG Type 2 Phaser, and Inspector Gadget?

  • demarion

. . . . . Marry her off to Sigmund, that way, they both get what they deserve.

  • Frank

O.K., she’s finally got her meeting. Now what?

I would never use that word on someone. That was a terrible season of Star Trek.

    • ElectricGecko

You’re just jealous because the first season of TNG was too amazing for words.

      • Frank

Did you see all of it?

        • ElectricGecko

Yes. Every episode a masterpiece. Especially the ones with Wesley.

          • Frank

I was never and am not a Wesley-hater. I was a bight boy and I suppose I was who he was aimed at. I can see now how unsatisfying he was, but it wasn’t his fault. It was the writers.

          • ElectricGecko

Wesley was Roddenberry’s stand-in. (I mean, Jesus, the man’s middle name was Wesley!). As such, he was written at Roddenberry’s insistence as a ridiculous Mary Sue. And this was AFTER the Star Trek fan community already birthed that term, so maybe he should have been more self-aware.

Season one is honestly a very hard watch. And it stands as a barrier to anyone trying to get into the series now. If you recommend it to people, they’ll always want to start at the beginning, and then you’re like, “Uhm, maybe start around season three,” and they confused and … yeah.

          • Frank H.

            “Wesley was Roddenberry’s stand-in.”

That’s the first and often last thing anyone knows about Wesley anymore, which I think is not particularly fair to the character. It’s true, don’t get me wrong. But it’s limiting. He annoyed people on so many different levels despite the potential. I liked him, but I was also kind of annoying, so, you know, birds of a feather.

“Season one is honestly a very hard watch. And it stands as a barrier to anyone trying to get into the series now. If you recommend it to people, they’ll always want to start at the beginning, and then you’re like, ‘Uhm, maybe start around season three,’ and they confused and … yeah.”

I think there are a few things from season 1 you could show people and not feel bad about it. But not many.

Season 2 was good, in my inexpert opinion, but to give you Pulaski and then take her away can be hard. And yes, Dr. Crusher should have come back, I’m just not a Pulaski hater either.

          • ElectricGecko

I’m fine with Pulaski. She was fine. There were some good bits in season two. But season three is the start of stuff that more consistently aged well.

          • Frank H.

“[S]eason three is the start of stuff that more consistently aged well.”

            Very, very true.

  • LaughingDemon

Little Caesar’s ain’t bad. Those new pepperoni puffs also make a quick breakfast when you’re in a hurry.

I think we just found our diversion. Not quite as classy as an old guy feigning a heart attack, but it’ll do.

    • ElectricGecko

I’ve said this many times before in my life, but I feel that Little Caesars, while not the best pizza around, is amazing pizza for the price. The food is pretty good and the prices insanely low. Can you get better pizza? Yeah. Easily. But for triple the price. And affordability’s gotta count for something. Especially now.

      • LaughingDemon

Amen to that. Plus my tastes are Pepperoni. They pretty much always have one of those in the warm box.
And as of Covid times, I can order from an app or site, drive over, and they’ll have loaded it into a tray I can access with a code that I was emailed. Very convenient.

Asymptomatic carrier. The medical term for what Colin supposedly is. Hmmmm . . . . I’m thinking, it’s really quite surprising that chaos doesn’t break out everywhere he goes. Common-law husband of Puck, father of the future Empress of Earth, male role model for Daphne (which explains so much), friends with the Daughter of Satan, acquainted with Satan, that all must have an effect! Possibly that’s why he never noticed pikachu-head, she’s nothing next to his daily life!

    • rewinn

Here we were all focussing on the women in this comic, when the real source of action is Colin The Chaos Magnet …

…although I must respectfully disagree about his impact on Daphne. She came into the show with the completely self-centered personality that she’s carried forward into most of this story, using Puck as a model rather than Auntie Phoebe. It’s Colin that very occasionally suggests she consider the feelings of others (as in the brief heart-to-heart following the attempted Schnarf-napping.) He doesn’t push it but perhaps he’s learned from teaching that you can’t succeed with kids that way.
Or maybe he’s just winging it. Again.

    • ElectricGecko

I thought of using the word ‘asymptomatic’ but backed off because it felt less accessible. I do think of these things. Too much at times.
