MAY VOTING INCENTIVE UP NOW!!!
April showers brought May flowers! And Puck!
As for this comic…
Now let’s be honest: this ‘spicy’ Scooby costume is about as tasteful and modest as a costume can be. Phoebe could have made far worse. But considering Daphne’s usual wardrobe choices, it’s a little out there. Hence the reaction.
Also…
Today marks the tenth anniversary of Puck as a webcomic. I made a little post about it HERE. Yay.
Ruh roh
Indeed.
Roh RES!
How’s Tyler/Shaggy gonna react this time?
Next comic.
“Zoinks!”
Or maybe that’s just me.
Jeepers!
I expect nothing from Tyler’s jaw as it will be unhinged.
Neverthless, I anticipate an onomatopeia on one panel:
Schwing!!
Haven’t heard that one in a few decades.
I’ve been around for a few decades.
Salute!
I hope that happens just for Colin’s reaction. 😀
Rooby Rule Thirty-Four!
The worst of the rules.
That *almost* makes the nonsense they’ve been putting each other through all worthwhile. Maybe not to them, but to us.
Who are ‘they’, and what nonsense are you referring to? This comic has had a lot of nonsense over the years. Gotta be specific.
Scooby-Doo never looked so hot . . .
Enh, I’m sure there’s hotter versions out there. I’m afraid to Google it.
I did, on Bing. Turned up one picture from Fur Affinity, not particularly hot. Must not have been phrasing it right.
Or maybe this is just an untapped niche? I’m afraid I might be an inadvertent pioneer!
You’ll be forever known as the guy who made Scooby-Doo a hot girl.
This is … not something I want to be remembered for. But I guess you don’t get to control that…
Who needs cosplay ears when you got ’em already? XD
Forgive me, but hell yes!
Unforgivable!
Scrappy is not the worst Scooby Doo character in existence. Scooby Dumb and Flim Flam are much worse.
No argument here.
I… I… I’ll allow it…
Sorry we didn’t check with you beforehand.
Puck, buy a clue. Phoebe is not too happy with you at the moment. Those frozen daggers emanating from her could pierce the soul of a Care Bear right now…
She is not happy with Puck. But there is no real malice in her behaviour. It’s still Phoebe being Phoebe.
It’s practically conservative compared to Phoebe’s usual wardrobe.
But compared to Daphne’s usual wardrobe. Yeah, a bit spicy, but a skin tight low cut suit is still very decent compared to most cosplay outfits. At least Daphne has the figure for it.
It just shows that deep down, she does want to feel a little sexy.
It shows only one thing: that deep down, she knows she’s going to a con that’s going to be crawling with sexy Velmas. And she’s gotta hold her own.
True. She now has to ensure he holds Tyler’s attention.
At least there shouldn’t be too many sexy Scoobys there.
And not that Phoebe as Velma isn’t hot, but I feel it actually dials down Phoebe’s base hotness.
Like, down to 10 from 11.
I think the dial-down factor depends on how much you’re into the Velma thing. I’d tend to agree with you, but I know many guys who wouldn’t.
INCONCEIVABLE
You keep using that word.
I’d swear that Miranda’s figured out how to move her suit ears.
Funny how that works.
Well, we are looking at the future Empress of Earth here . . . seriously, daughter of a fairy, unofficial niece of Satan’s daughter, plus hybrid vigour from being the daughter of a magical fairy and a human man, plus cute as a basket of kittens and puppies, so yeah, bow before the cuteness and the majesty that is Miranda!
Hybrid vigor. It’s a thing.
Congrats on ten years!
Also, Daphne has ensured that Tyler’s eyes are going to be on HER, and not the other sexy Velmas at the con…
This is indeed the reasoning.
Congratulations!
That is exactly what Daphne wanted and I don’t buy that it’s ’cause of all the other sexy Scoobies out there, she just wanted to.
Miranda being confused by her sister is adorable, but that’s how she is.
Man, Phoebe is a talented . . . needlewoman. They didn’t even know they were going until yesterday.
Well, it’s been more than one day. Since the start of the arc, I’m guessing it’s been a week or two. But her ability to make costumes and clothing does seem to have a certain supernatural speediness…
You’re undoubtedly right. My my dad used to enjoy saying that one of the reasons why he liked Star Trek movies was because they didn’t have to use models.
Patent nonsense, of course, but he was a creative man and enjoyed a nice bit of fantasy.
Scoob has boobs! Who knew?
Scooby-booby-doo?
you say that like its a bad thing. boobs are good. even on snakes, if a bit confusing.
Uh, that would NOT be good for a snake’s locomotion.
I don’t know Torque is a very good shot. and moves quite fast. (Xcom reference)
Oh my! The next time I hear someone referred to as “a real dog” I will have this image pop up in my brain.
Congrats, indeed, on 10 fun years. I discovered Puck about that time, binged the college strips, and have thoroughly enjoyed your work ever since. Thanks for the fun, and keep it up!
Thanks for continuing to follow, through thick and thin.
BTW, we’d love it if you did a voting incentive of the whole crew in costume in the classic Scooby Doo group pose… that is, if it won’t get you sued by H-B.
Yeah, I might get to it.
This story arc, I think, will almost certainly clear the parody bar so I think we’re good on a legal front. That will become even more obvious as we go along.
Looking at Daphne’s Scooby-Doo costume one question came to mind… Does Daphne have a tail?
She does not. That is a fake tail. Only Phoebe and her father have tails in this comic.
As to why Daphne doesn’t have a tail, I … honestly don’t know. When I was restarting the comic ten years ago, I had to ask myself, “Does Daphne have a tail? She MUST have a tail, right?” But then I looked, and nope. No tail. So I continued with that established convention that I’d started long ago.
IIRC, our favourite cat-girl has a tail…
It’s fake. I assume?
The first moment of spice is a moment that every parent must face, and for which few are prepared.

Good job with the spots! It looks like the saddle spot was moved from Scoobydo’s hips to Daphne-do’s waist where it accentuates the figure in a better way. The tail is anatomically problematic, but artistically, well, if it continued from the tailbone that would not be helpful from the standpoint of the costume’s purpose of keeping Ty on target.
The tail is fake, sewn on. And Scoob’s large black spot on his back actually seems to move around a lot, depending on who’s drawing him. It tends to be mid-back, so I tried to emulate that here.
oh yeah, I’m sure you established before that Daph has no visible tail; I was thinking of how Phoebe solved the human esthetic problem of a tail, which come to think of it, is pretty progressive of her, considering that she *has* an actual tail. Just another think to respect her for.
Getting a real 80s vibe with Daphne in her Scooby-Doo dog collar. I appreciate her commitment to presentation because at any other time, I’d expect (ie, really like the idea) that she’d prefer some nice spikes in that collar.
Enh, the spikes are a bit too much effort for her. Fake edgy girls wear spiked collars. Real edgy girls are spiked collars.
I’m thinking of one who was even CALLED Spike ’cause she was so spiky.
Hilda “Sharp” Corners, from Heinlein’s “The Number of the Beast”?
Nice guess, but no.
Adorabelle Deerhart from Going Postal. AKA Spike!
In Mother Russia, spiked collar wears YOU.
I have never seen a spicy Scooby Doo before… to be fair, I never looked.
*looks with google* Tweaked search still turns up 90% Velma and 9% Daphnie, with last percent being mostly Shaggy…
I’m guessing it’s the ‘dog’ factor that scares the girls away. For whatever reason, though our society just loves dogs, we tie some very negative terms to them for women.
We love dogs very differently from how we love women.
By the way, have you noticed that in English, many of our insults are based on the gender of the target?
I have.
Scooby-Daphne FTW! 🙂
Wahoo!
*BONK*
Go to horny jail!
Now we are all furries.
We’re not converting here. That’s not our goal.
Maybe not, but it sure does look like your result!
Have a WILD WALPURGISNACHT !
Six months to Halloween !
FYI, everybody; check Youtube, for The Archies ‘Feelin’ So Good.’ About a girl named . . . I’m not saying, check it out.
Oh my! That is just … so wrong.
Although was that on one of those “records” you cut out of the back of a cereal box? Worth every penny!
It’s glorious. And it’s a bop, as the kids say.
It’s the feminine spelling.
Re Voting Incentive:
No Maypole, No TRACEEE, no Humor.
Yet, I APPROVE.
I might try for a second incentive with Maypole for later in May. Hate to disappoint.
My immediate reaction to the vote incentive: AAaaaaaCHOOOO!
Valid.
Tyler: “ZOINKS! Like Scoob! What… what the heck are you wearing!?!”
Daphne (sounding way too pleased with herself): “‘Raring’? I’m a roogie. I’m not ‘raring’ a damn thing!”
(Tyler’s face turns cherry red and he faints).
Daphne: “Great costume Phoebe! Thanks!”
Mission accomplished.
