I’ve run out of things to say to express my mortification. Give me a few days and maybe I’ll come up with something.

Phoebe has managed the seemingly impossible; Srcappy is adorable. Admittedly she only managed it by weaponizing Miranda’s inherent cute, but that is to be expected.
It’s like prison. You fashion weapons from the oddest of things.
Well, there is a distinct difference between what Scrappy-Doo says and what Miranda just said.
So, I don’t think that Puck needs to worry just yet.
The full demonic force has not yet manifested.
Thankfully she doesn’t know the role enough to be unsettlingly upbeat.
Yeah, it doesn’t have the same effect if it’s not delivered in a loud, brash nyawkish voice.
It makes me wonder: what the HELL were H-B thinking when they gave Scrappy that voice? It’s easily 50% of the annoyance factor, maybe much more.
I recently watched a video about this. I seem to recall that Scrappy’s voice kinda shifted and changed over time. But however they came up with it, it is REALLY weird that they went with the choice they did. If he had a cuter, younger voice, he might have been less despised.
I hate to be the totally old geek nerd guy here, but Scrappy’s voice was used years before in another H-B cartoon. H-B had so many cartoons in circulation over the years, yet stuck with the same few versatile voice artists. Scrappy was voiced by Don Messick who performed “Pixie” the mouse in the “Pixie and Dixie” cartoons in the 1950s. While Pixie was pleasing and cute, Scrappy was not — same voice but very different delivery. Besides the voice, a puppy with grossly enlarged head and bad attitude really is begging to be despised… just sayin’.
The dozens of Scooby clones that HB cranked out in the 70’s make my head spin. Like they hit on this “teens plus animal sidekick solve mysteries” idea and were like, “This works! Let’s just keep doing this!”
So much content, mostly all forgotten.
The radiant circles around her cute, cute head were a nice touch. Hard to be mad at someone radiating cute like that.
I feel that cuteness does radiate in colorful circles.
Yeah, radiation is cute. Madame Curie thought radiation was cute. The THEM! ants were attracted to those cute, radiating mushroom clouds. Its all cute until someone gets embiggened or finds a carnivorous third eye protruding from a stalk that bursts from your forehead. This endeavor to encuten Scrappy can only end in drama.
The third eye was actually Lovecraft.
Or more cuteness.
That level of cuteness can destroy worlds…

This is not what I had envisioned for when Miranda started talking. Granted, if I had envisioned it, I probably would have run away.
Reality goes in unexpected, terrible directions.
I was a minor flunky for Coleco when they peddled the Talking Cabbage Patch Kid. It was a clever idea and a really bad idea, since for a small increase in play value and a big increase in price, you got something that … if you forgot to switch it off … might start talking in the middle of the night.

My son had a Furby Party Rocker – this tiny budget version of a Furby that babbled nonsense in Cartman’s voice from ‘South Park’. It was the stuff of nightmares, but even worse: it had NO OFF BUTTON. The only way to deactivate it was to leave it motionless on a surface for a full minute. But if you accidentally bumped the shelf, it’d turn on again.
Terrifying.
Also, wow! You worked for Coleco? Good memories. Kinda. Okay, I never really owned a Colecovision, but I knew kids who did. And I never got into the Cabbage Patch Kids craze. They always creeped me out.
Wait, I’m wrong! I was a big Sectaurs fan. That was Coleco. Them giant bugs were so cool.

I hope you enjoyed them! I especially liked the puppet monsters although at the time I was too dignified to buy and play with them myself.
At the time, I was but a humble computer programmer writing inventory management systems, but we all understood the intent of the product line. The were intentionally started out at a different size than G.I.Joe to distinguish them, but I got the impression that this meant kids who had one set of figures couldn’t use them to play with the other set of figures – and Hasbro already ruled that toy space. Wikipedia says the product line failed because of the “intimidating” look to the figures but I dunno, kids like creepy stuff.
Maybe for Halloween I’ll make myself a “Dragonflyer” glove, that would be cool!
I loved Sectaurs. Yeah, it was a different form factor than other 80’s lines, but whatever. Most lines in the 80’s were weird, inconsistent sizes. I loved creepy bugs. My brother and I probably owned about half the whole line between the two of us.
It’s a fondly remembered line among collectors, and the pieces still look amazing, even by today’s standards. Wish I still had my childhood ones, but they were sacrificed on the altar of the garage sale at my mom’s behest some time in the early 90’s.
Except Skito. He was sacrificed on the altar of being set on fire in the mid 90s because lighting action figures on fire was kinda fun. I do regret this action in hindsight. But he did burn real good.
If the guys in the crack house next door thought they were bad before, what’ll they think of these cosplay cartoons running around?
