For the record, this right here is the stupidest single joke I’ve ever used in a comic. It came to me earlier in the week, and I initially thought, “No, that’s a dumb idea.” But then I kept thinking about it, and the joke seemed to get funnier every time. So I used it. So there.
As a service to the non-native-English-speaking readers, the ‘bun in the oven’ is a common English metaphor for pregnancy. I think most people can figure that out from the context of the strip, but I like to clarify things.
For those who missed the opportunity to see Phoebe jump out of a cake in a sparkly blue bikini, you can purchase the pic from the STORE! It’s only a buck for a set of five voting incentives! That’s what I call a deal!
I can’t help but wonder – is it really noon, or did no one bother to set the clock above the stove? Hmm… My money’s on the latter… :-]
No one set the clocks above the stove. We’re dealing with lazy people here.
I just love all the little details like that. It’s the extra mile (kilometre, in this case), and it’s appreciated. ^_^
I like this one.
This one is the stupidest joke I’ve ever put in as a punch line, and for that reason it’s also one of my favourites.
Again, the last line (Phoebe’s thought balloon) is what nails this.
I personally am a big fan of the downbeat joke, where there’s a final quip following the primary punchline.
I love bad puns … this qualifies just fine even if its visual.
I suppose im still a fan of pretty juvenile humour. Probably the last part of me that hasn’t grown up. Heh heh.
Don’t ever grow up, man. It’s scary and you can’t go back.
This amuses me in a somewhat MontyPythonesque way.
Yeah. Now that you mention it, it DOES sound like a skit Monty Python would do.
This one reminds me of the video I saw once of how a couple told the wife’s mother about being pregnant.
Sometimes some people are slow on the uptake.
Now Puck will think Phoebe is psychic. (Or will she?) :))
I have always thought, at the back of my mind, cheese and onions.
It is the best bun. No argument.
