Chapter: The Howlers DebacleCharacters: Phoebe PuckTags: boyfriend discount howlers
In my opinion, Phoebe’s innocent in this equation. And in my opinion, drawing car interiors really sucks. Just saying. If you haven’t seen the new ‘Naughty Leprechaun’ voting incentive, well, do so! NOW! Though this particular incentive pic isn’t available through voting on TWC anymore, you can purchase the pic from the STORE! It’s only a buck for a set of five voting incentives! That’s what I call a deal!

Is Puck planning on killing Colin and Phoebe or Phoebe’s breasts? Because it seems like she’s glaring at them.

Women, men stare at boobs. We’re as much a victim as y’all. We don’t want to, but…, we can’t help it. Like they said in MiB: II, (paraphrased) “You could rule the world with the right set of mammaries.”

on the re-read, I think the thing I like best about this one is how you can almost see Pucks ears twitch as they droop…. that’s awesome….

Hey! It’s the return of Phoebe’s glasses! Neato!

Also, at first I thought the red Halo around Puck was a visual manifestation of her rage, but as it appears behind the headrest, I’m not so sure. Unless this was just an oversight.

Also also, for as much as Phoebe is looking over at Puck, one can only assume she is either a dangerous driver, or they are stopped somewhere.

The red halo is a visual manifestation of her rage, but it sometimes appears from behind props and stuff. It’s not exactly a mistake; it’s more a laziness to do with image layering and stuff. The seats in these panels are fresh draws, drawn with the the characters. The backgrounds are on a different layer. I could carefully cut a transparency layer to go in front of the seat, but I didn’t. So yeah, lazy.

As for the ‘eyes not on the road’ thing, I adhere to the time-honored system of bad movie drivers seen in old movies (and so nicely identified in Amelie), where drivers need never actually take their eyes off the passenger, because they’re not really driving a real car. Same principle here.

Side note: characters playing video games in this comic do the same thing.

I have to say, a better argument can be made that women stare at men, too. After all, how is men going somewhere like Howlers to stare at boobs and eat wings any different than women going to male reviews? This, of course, coming from the perspective of a woman. Men will stare, women will stare, as long as nobody’s touching what they’re not supposed to, there shouldn’t be anger betwixt.

True. Though I can safely say that I’ve never really felt belittled by the female gaze. That said, I don’t think the female gaze has ever really paid me attention of any kind, so I wouldn’t be able to report on it. That said, despite my lack of experience, I tend to think it’s more polite and less creepy than the male equivalent.

Is Phoebe BALD from her Horns on back ?

It looks like she is, and her bangs are a comb-over held in place by a gold band stapled to her forehead.

    (She’s still hawt.)

    • ElectricGecko

Uh, maybe? Honestly, the hairstyle’s just sort of become a trope that I’ve run with even though it makes absolutely no sense. NO SENSE.

      • SalemCat

Oops … I meant “Is Phoebe BALD from her Horns FORWARD ?”

But in your wisdom, you understood what I meant. And did not correct me. Thank Yew.

(my wife would have corrected me. in private. then in public. then over and over, for days. never stopping. until she found a sharper “knife”. she’s a lot like puck.)

  • SalemCat

As always, Phoebe is both sensible and practical.

    And generous, and beautiful !
