This is one of those strips that people without children might find somewhat inaccessible. But if you’ve had a kid, then you know what I’m talking about here.
How does this resolve itself in real life.

I would get a shirt, but; half of them I don’t get – and the other half the people around here wouldn’t get, because their too old, too young or too churchie. 🙁
Well, you definitely have to be down with wearing a shirt that few will recognize or get. I’ve always been cool with that, though. My shirt collection includes Starbomb cover art, the crest of the Knights Who Say Nee, and a rendition of the cover for Abbey Road done with Star Wars Lego minifigs. I like to wear my weirdness on my sleeve. Or chest, as it were.

I’m… Almost feeling bad for Colin. Almost. Then again, I know this can happen in reality, so part of me wants to pat him on the back and give him a beer and the OTHER part of me wants to point at him and laugh while handing him a beer.

Well, Colin hasn’t been one long. So his logic might resemble your logic.
Why not just take the kid into the bathroom with him? It’s like the parents who feed their kids and then complain that their own food is cold. There are ways to take care of both your and your kids’ needs.
Though I guess that’s the fun part a webcomic with young parents; they’re thinking in the moment and don’t have the experience to think beyond that moment.

Moving Miranda could wake her up, and the crying would resume for maybe yet another hour. At least that’s how I read Colin’s reluctance, but I’m no parent myself.
No dice. If he moves her, she’ll wake up and cry. It could never be that easy.
They do have changing stations in the men’s rooms. Don’t tell any of the women, let it be our little secret.

That takes me back…although the crying to sleep technique works more or less, I’ve never felt victorious about it afterwards. Just bruised ears from healthy lungs shrieking.

It really is a Pyrrhic victory. And it’s always tenuous at best. You live in constant fear of the hard-won peace being broken.

What you’re seeing is the result of months of work on my part, and is a combination of custom printed pieces from the wonderful Minfig Labs company in Singapore, some customized painting done by yours truly, and some special orders from the Bricklink website. It took me a while, but I finally got it together!
It was worth the effort.

But she doesn’t need to be changed! She needs to sleep! You don’t move ticking time bombs!
But kids that age are still mentally accustomed to bouncing around inside a mother as she walks around. Minor movement of the seat isn’t going to shock her into being awake like it would for an older kid.
