Well, he’s not really breaking the fourth wall. He’s still talking to Phoebe. It’s just that his ‘Liefeld no pupil’ look means that we can’t really see where his eyes are pointing.

Hiring someone you feel compelled to refer to as Cruella seems to literally beg for this kind of outcome. Have you seen her series? I haven’t, but I’ve heard it’s good.

I like the Who’s They. I’d have accepted and even used Who’re Them (much to my mother and brother’s disappointment). Who’re They feels a little odd, but I’m likely overthinking it.

I’m not housebound because I regularly make use of N95 masks. But the forest fires likely will keep me off my mountain bike, which is a real stressor.
Excellent use of ungendered pronouns and over-numbered verbs in panel 2. Daphne appears to assume that daddy is using the ungendered pronoun in reference to a single person, and uses the same construction back with “who’s”. Only when Satan enumerates the malefactors does she realize it should’ve been “who’re”, but at that point we’re on bigger issues.
Such bigger issues that she resorts to uncharacteristic sarcasm … or perhaps as she gets older, she gets more complex … like most of us and fine wines?
I just thought it was an exchange that sounded funny.
Maybe that’s a difference between an author and a critic. The author writes an exchange that sounds funny, the critic writes a book explaining it, being either a deep deep thinker or a chatbot hallucinating – hard to tell which.
I’m getting mor terrified of the chatbots with every passing day. Don’t joke about them, man. They may find us.
