The statue is clearly the depiction of the females struggle against the patriarchy by demanding not to be forced into the sharply distinct historical roles forced upon the women of history. The matronly curves of those who carry the burden of birthing the human race into the future prove the struggle can eventually be overcome and overthrown.

Coming from you, thank you. I know it was a bit tongue in cheek. But I’m also of the thought that would be sound reasoning to Tyler’s mom.
I’m kind of the thought that a piece of art is 90% talent, 5% resources, and 5% sales. I.e. knowing your customers either through first impressions via the artist’s statement, word of mouth through the artist’s target audience, or by utilizing insight in merging the artist’s vision with their target audience.
Whatever it is, the sculptor was clearly influenced by Brancusi. Looks like a riff on Bird in Flight.

Or supportive in private with his son. That, to me, is not the smile of a father who is simple “accepting” things.

I noticed in the character tags, Tyler’s parents aren’t listed… Do they even have names?
I remember reading that this writer worked up a whole elaborate backstory for a character who came in, delivered one line, and was gone. (I think I remember who, but I’m not sure, so, appropriately…no names.)
That wasn’t me. I never overthink anything. People often ask me, “What’s the deal with so-and-so?” And I honestly don’t know. I generate lore on an as-per-need basis. No more.

Assuming Tyler’s mom took her husband’s last name, of course… These days, it’s common for spouses to keep their maiden name, and in the Province of Quebec, required.
It’s actually Dr. Morgan and Dr. Goldberg. She did not take his name.

Apparently Tyler’s mom doesn’t understand the point of psychology that by forbidden a child to do something will make them more likely to do it…or maybe she MAYBE she APPROVES of Daphne and is using reverse psychology on him.
True. But it’s hard to take that approach when you’re really, REALLY angry and disapproving.
Yeah, but the more she disappoves the more he’ll rebel and see Daphne. She isn’t careful she may possibly end up with Daphne as a future daughter-in-law. *evil maniacal laughter*

Tyler Goldberg has his father’s eyes. At first I thought he might be a step child but they look very much alike.
I think you should give his father a name in strip but not this mother. He seems to be Tyler’s ally and you might be able to do more with him making him a buddy of Colin and Cy. Maybe guys will take Tyler on road trip while ladies work on wedding.
