Haven't seen the crows in a while. Never too late to add a little bit of Hitchcock into your life.
The nice thing about threatening ppl with wild animals is that they are wild animals, so (a) you don’t know how far they will go, and (b) unless you are a certified animal trainer, it seems like it would be a hard crime to prosecute.
“But yerhonor, I was just trying to intimidate him. I didn’t know the crows would peck their eyes out!”
They are legally very convenient.
It was at that moment they realised they were cawght out! That instead of crowing about, they should have been eating crow! Well, too late now, they so much as twitch, the feathers will fly, fast and furious!

Phoebe seems to be doing a lot of the heavy lifting here. Which is odd since we haven’t seen her in ages.
I find it kind of funny that as her father’s “powers” have waned, she has developed her own “powers”. I wonder if this will stick or disappear if her father regains his “powers”.
i don´t think her developing powers has to do with daddy dearest loosing his, but rather him+tracee turning up at her doorstep made life unpleasant for her for the first time ever, causing her to need/discover powers of her own to change things…..and now that she´s had a taste of it, i doubt she´ll want to go back to just being the hot girl from howlers
….also, anyone else getting hitchcock-vibes from that last panel? i swear i hear that creepy kids-song just looking at it
I was trying for some Hitchcock vibes. Glad they were achieved.
But she’s so sweet! She’s even a knitter! Knitters can’t be evil. Not truly evil. It’s too niche a hobby. They watch each other veeeeeeery carefully lest needles come under legal scruiteny. Attention, rather.
Phoebe will never be evil. Ever.

Yeah, that is not the most intimidating of phrases.
Well, daggers? I actually took the ‘ice pick’ line from the dude who takes care of the ravens at the Tower of London. He said caring for ravens was like caring for three year-olds all wielding ice picks.
He should know.
I love how their alarm auras are all apt Fall colors.
And being of the fall, I choose to identify said flying ice picks as dreaded Ravens rather than Crows. Something more poetic in that…

There are (sadly) no ravens in southern Ontario. But spiritually I agree.
Are there tigers running about in southern Ontario? Monkeybears? Satans? I think we can stretch a bit.

The tiger is from a local country zoo. The monkey bears are admittedly a little fanciful.
We have them up here in Ottawa.

Her hooligan friends don’t frighten me either. The crows on the other hand . . . Eeeeeeee! They can be aggressive if you give them a good reason.
As it it gets colder, the crows are stating to spend time in town, looking for vacation rentals. It’s nice. I’m sure they do t he same on your side of the lake.
Sometimes? I dunno. I have been trying to befriend the crows in my neighborhood for years but they make it very hard. They are incredibly skittish and fly away at the mere sight of humans. They’re smart that way. Only dumb birds let us get close.
We are terrifying.
I can listen to them here. Not today, we’re having a warm snap. But if it gets cold enough, totally.
Your chances of being pecked to death by a murder of crows is low, but never zero.

These guys are going to learn why a flock of crows is called a murder.
You might not die from a murder of crows … but you’ll probably wish you did after they’re done with you.
They only be MOSTLY dead. There’s a big difference between mostly dead and all dead. All dead there’s only one thing you can do.

I lost my gentleman’s bet but I’m not complaining. I think they look more like ravens than crows because of their beaks. Either way, I wouldn’t want to mess with them. 😉
Crows are hard to draw. They end up looking unconvincing. I find a bit more raven in them makes the crow look a little less like a seagull.
Ravens and Crows and Jays oh my! ……well, maybe not the jays.
The Jays got eliminated during game seven. So no Jays.
My understanding is that they made it difficult. 🙂
