As for this comic...
I am tired of comic panels that set the record (or get close to setting the record) for the most number of named characters in a single shot. It's tiring. And to that end, I chose to have three of those characters leave, thus making the upcoming strips easier to draw. (I'd planned Hannah's exit a while back, but I'd initially thought it would happen a little later. Then I realized that I really hated drawing her squad over and over again for no good reason, so I moved her exit up a bit.)
Well, since they’re robots. it’s metal detector time!
Or time for a really big magnet. It’s cool, I got the idea from Breaking Bad.
Like Wile E. Coyote? He had a big magnet. It didn’t end well.

Indeed.
But why? Asking as a native Dutch speaker.
For style. And the fact that Hannah is Dutch.
Dutch? With her surname spelled as vanBeek? Absolutely not! That’s “American of Dutch origin” at best..
She’s Canadian of Dutch origin, from the insular, rural Dutch that exist in the countryside of the Hamilton area. Not born in the Netherlands; parents likely not born in the Netherlands either.
Is she Yankee Dutch? If so, more points for purposefully learning the language.
No Yankees up here. The community she comes from is a bit of a hardcore Protestant wing of Dutch. They tend to speak Dutch in the home, though Hannah is also a native English speaker.

Hmmm . . . . the third panel is reminiscent of Marilyn Monroe, singing Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend, in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. That said, for all that it is reminiscent, Hannah makes that pose her own!
The echo is semi-intentional.
Why do I feel like Hannah has another heist planned for the same night? Am I crazy?

I hope Derek is up to handling Cassidy and Hannah both. In the words of Detective Sgt. Ron Harris, as a reply to “You cannot have two women at the same time.” Answer: “Not if you want to be sharp in the morning.”
I don’t know the exact nature of their relationship. But I know it’s not kosher.
Okay, sooo, at one time I was thinking EG refrains from featuring Hannah in the Incentives because it may seem a tad exploitational. I mean, I respect her as a person.
But then you go and tease that black lace stocking with the hint of a garter belt and I’m all in on a Hannah incentive, dude.

No, I just avoid the pinups for characters that are still theoretically in high school. It’s just an age thing.
And that’s tasteful…
In the meantime, its high time they graduated.
