Yet another example of Puck’s bad mothering and Daphne’s cynical attitude. No surprises here. I believe that almost everyone on Earth should get the Sara Lee reference, because the Sara Lee corporation seems to own half the globe. Anyway, Sara Lee makes these gross chocolate cakes that you keep in the freezer. They’re awful, but you can’t stop eating them. Puck seems to like ‘em.
In fact, the Canadian comedy band Kiltlifters even wrote a song about Sara Lee: “Sara Lee, oh Sara Lee, merrily we rolled along. Sara Lee, come back to me. You make good #@$%ing cheesecake.”
Heh.
Never heard of “Sara Lee”.
But the Daphne clearly needs the exercise.
Mmmmm. Sara Lee’s Deep n’ Delicious snack cake is totally foreign to you? That’s very, very sad.
They don’t really have that sort of stuff here in Britain.
Umm what the heck is that
Sara Lee makes premade cakes that you keep in the freezer. They’re sort of wonderful in a weird way.
“Everybody doesn’t like something / But nobody doesn’t like Sara Lee.”
Does that show my age?
I wouldn’t know. It’s too old for me. 😉
Never heard of Sara Lee.
But we have Coppenrath and my mom buys them since they are better than her own cakes.
Sara Lee’s cakes are NOT better than your mom’s cakes. But they ARE cake (sort of) and if you have a choice between no cake and Sara Lee cake, then…
The only item more popular than Sara Lee in the United States is Hostess!
Hostess is sort of present in Canada, but I think it’s one of those weird deals where various companies hold the distribution rights to Hostess products even though they’re not all made by the same company. Twinkies up here, for instance, are made by Vachon (a Quebec snack cake company), but labelled ‘Hostess’ for whatever reason.
If those cakes are that undesirable, I am not sorry to say I have never heard of Sara Lee.
They’re actually kinda wonderful. But really? Never heard of Sara Lee? That’s odd.
@EG
Entenmanns ?
DiLuigi’s ?
No ?
Honestly, the World will be a better place if local Butchers and Bakers remain so – ALWAYS.
Puck is a fairy, so she can eat whatever she wants.
Especially when that ‘whatever’ is cake!
