Canoodling is a weird word… I wonder where it comes from?
In any case, difficult choice for the teens, on one hand, Tyler’s mother will probably skin Daphne if she goes to Tyler’s house, but on the other hand, if they’re at Daphne’s place, they have to put up with shipper on deck Puck.
Hard choice.
He’s using it because its got most of “CANADA” in it.

Canoodling is the best word. And part of being a teenager is a crushing lack of privacy and/or appropriate places to hang. It’s what makes it special. And “shipper on deck Puck” is perhaps the best description ever. She has been weirdly invested in these two hooking up since … ever.

Apparently, CANOODLE dates from 1859 (somewhat recent).

Made up or not, it’s a good word.
I remember when I was little. Once a year we’d go out to the fields to harvest the new words when they were ripe. Those were natural, wholesome words. Nothing made up, they came straight from the earth.
All words are made up. Just a question of when.
I worked whit this really pretentious ass that used Bumbershoot because he thought that’s what they called them in England. Boy did he lose it when I told him it was really a slang term from The Pacific North-West.

Bumbershoot – A Fake Word
West coast loggers (call ’em lumberjacks at your peril) were a motley crew, many from the white pine forests of the Great Lakes. Red River Lumber, originally from Akeley Minnesota, relocated to Northeastern California after they depleted the forests around their original site and founded the city of Westwood, on the way between the Feather River Headwaters and Susanville to the east. Their ad man, Wm. Laughead, created the contemporary image we have of Paul Bunyan, in which he depicted Paul with bumbershoots on his feet to keep the inverted rain from running up his trouser legs.

When I was a teen, my GF’s dad was kind of a fan of the “Grievous bodily harm” method…
I think the GBH method of dealing with your daughter’s boyfriends has lessened in an era where uttering death threats is often prime material for a lawsuit. So I think if this is the approach you choose, be sure there are no witnesses. And finish the job.

Canned ravioli is alright, but nowhere near as good as the gourmet fresh stuff you can get these days.
I personally prefer frozen ravioli. The ‘fresh’ stuff, while good, by necessity must sit around on a shelf for a while before it goes in your pot. The frozen ravioli is frozen minutes after being made. You cook it up and it’s perfect. In my neck of the woods there’s a company called (fittingly) the “Ontario Ravioli Company Ltd.” and they make the best stuff. They’re based out of my city, actually, and their stuff is all lovingly flash frozen. Next best thing to homemade.

This is reminiscent of the climactic scene of “Fox In Sox” (…the tweedle beetle noodle poodle bottle paddle battle….) which I must now go re-read…..toodles!

I have an unfortunate tendency to delete the wrong bookmarks by way of inaccurate mousing and too-quick clicking (on my many dozens of webcomic link lists long). I don’t realize I’ve done it until I open the dropdown list and the bookmark I THOUGHT I erased is still there… and I have zero idea what USED to be right next to it.
Throw in that I tend to not buy new laptops until the previous one is totally unusable, (meaning my webcomic list has to be rebuilt from memory… and my memory is not so great) …and I lost track of “Puck” for quite a while there. 🙁

I believe those smiley face emoticons are just compatible ones within WP’s comment system.
As in, I select a 🙂 on my iphone, it sends it as plain text : ) , and WP converts that into it’s own :).
😎 So really, the best we can do is learn which emoticons/emoji WP has in it’s list, and stick to those, maybe even typing their text codes in directly to be sure, rather than risk your smartphone’s much larger emoji list having some not compatible with WP’s shorter list.
(I still wanted two clinking beer mugs as a “cheers”, but you can’t always get what you want in life…) 🙄
