I’m sure as not going to tell her, unless Puck tells her while she says, “We’re going to a convention and cosplay. Well pay for Tyler if you’re Scooby-Doo.”
Been then I think that Daphne will whip out a roll of 20s (if that’s possible) and almost shove it in Puck’s just to ask for the lava lamp again.
Well, they’re down one role, so I think Tyler’s chances of coming along are pretty good. And it seems like Puck must have gotten back Mr. Bubbles from Daphne at some point, because we’ve seen a lava lamp in her bedroom. It does look like a smaller lava lamp, though, so maybe it’s a cheap replacement?
But is it possible to put Canadian currency in a roll?
I don’t think Daphne will go unless she’s Daphne. She has a pretty strong self-image.

After seeing it on YouTube, I went and bought it. Although, I’m wondering about the one with the Hex Girls.
The Hex Girls show up in an episode of “What’s New, Scooby-Doo?” that I quite enjoyed. That show had it going on.
But, are the Hex Girls a fictional band or what?
And that will also clear up who’s going to be her Freddy.
It would make the name situation easier, certainly.
I think her attitude upon being informed of her coplay will seem more like Scappy-Doo. Too bad she is the mass of a fully grown great dane, seeing as how she is pretty much full grown instead of an aggressive puppy.
The fact that Scrappy was a ‘puppy’ with the voice of an angry N’Yawkish 45 year-old man always sat wrong with me. As a kid, I usually thought of him more as a tiny breed of dog. Or an adult dog with dwarfism.
maybe they can bribe Tyler to convince her by giving him full seal of approval, & sanctuary along with money for the expenses that he will most likely rack up. maybe even *gasp* a favor in exchange….
or you know the girls can just push colin out as the sacrifice to the great bea-….utiful lovable and impressive daphne who would never steal from me or hurt me.

It was a foray, a brief excursion from Detroit into either Windsor to somehow drive by the Cambrian Club distillery. Our mom and I went to the next crossing north and drove down into Windsor back into Detroit. I know I’ve been out of the country once, but I think that we also stopped at the casino.

You make a valid point. Still casting her as Scooby…it doesn’t seem quite right. But thst’s just an opinion.
Hmm… If Daphne agrees to be Scooby, then is Colin’s plan to ask Tyler to be Shaggy? All, he’ll need at that point is a quarter to fairly decide who gets to be Daphne and Velma between Puck and Phoebe.
Just need a few pieces to fall into place. And then everything will take shape.
Rather than blindly following the original formula, how about a GENDER_BENDING “Scooby-Dudette”?
Complete with a costume that’s just a furry bikini, no less!

I fully support Miranda in the role of “Scrappy-Doo”!
In-fact, the 2 of them could wear matching spike-studded collars, with over-sized dog-tags!

With Tyler in the role of “Shaggy”, Daphne would have a built-in excuse to “cuddle-up” to him all night long!
These are all interesting propositions.
Mind you, if “Fred” is played by Colin, he’ll need to be clean-shaven.
I’m not sure that he’s even CONSIDERED removing his facial hair for this role, because I can easily picture this as being a “deal-breaker”, in his eyes.
Well, that consideration will be inevitable, I’d say.

Has anybody else noticed how often Great Danes are used in comics?
Scooby is just one example…
The Jetsons have Astro…
There’s Marmaduke (a newspaper comic)…
Goofy (Micky Mouse’ best friend)…
and Pluto (Goofy’s pet)
And that’s just off the top of my head.
While sitcoms tend to use english sheepdogs ( the Brady Bunch, the Partridge Family, ect.)
Of course the Queen of sitcoms (Lucille Ball) had a great dane in “I Love Lucy” for two episodes and declared she’s never work with the breed again.

I have to admit, anytime I need to smile, I just need to remember tiny (the great dane) sitting on Lucy’s lap.
Great Danes are big. They’re cute. People like them. But they’re not frequently used in live action because they’re not the smartest animals. Also, they’re shockingly short-lived, which poses problems if your trained actor only lives for five or six years.
Being ‘short-lived’ generally tends to be most of the bigger breeds, but with the great dane it’s because their digestive system tends to get twisted around.
Also, I have to admit brains do seem to not be in ‘great supply’ when the breed is considered.
The thirst for enjoying life does seem to be, though.
In the ‘I Love Lucy’ episodes, Lucille ball had been told is would be a small terrier (which she reportedly adored) she would be working with.
The shock she showed when ‘Tiny’ first barked and appeared was real; but being the true pro Lucy was, she adjusted and adapted.
They’re fun dogs. I’d take a Great Dane over a terrier any day.

As a compromise, I’d suggest a mixed-breed:
I once had occasion to meet a 50/50 mix of Great Dane & Labrador Retriever.
Picture the “Dane’s” HUGE size, & the “Lab’s” high, intelligent forehead.
A truly Gorgeous Beast — & mind you, this is coming from a “cat”-person.
Mixed breeds rock.
The only reoccurring Scooby Doo character Daphne is in any way equipped to play other than visually is Scrappy.
And really, the character she’s most cut out for is the greedy lady trying to steal property through deceit who would have gotten away with it if not for the people dressing up as the Scooby gang.
Yeah, based on personality alone, Daphne would definitely be a villain.

Notice how nobody ever seems surprised Scooby can talk?
With a terrible accent, but he can talk.
Rather fits that Dafne would be cast as Scooby for that reason alone.
You know Gecko, maybe we need more animals/critters of the “verbal” persuasion.

I dread trying to read Scooby’s dialogue, though.
I suspect trying to script that accent won’t be fun, either.
Scooby dialogue is murder to write out. It’s often unintelligible. I’m not even going to try.

Daphne plays Daphne, Colin plays Shaggy, Phobe plays Velma, Puck plays Scooby, Mirana as Scrappy, and Tyler as Fred.
Everyone equally hates their role, so it’s all balanced. That’s how compromise works, right?

The “real” Daphne will state that she wants to be the cosplay Daphne, while secretly dreaming of playing Velma because Tyler thinks Velma is the sexiest Toon in Toontown…

Outside the internet, the air-headed arm-ornament Daphne (Scooby universe version) grabs the prize.
To me, Shaggy and/or Scooby is/are the best characters.
His/Their self-preservation instincts are well developed.
As is their willingness to be bait for whatever trap Fred and Velma cook up.

I assume Daphne has superior hearing to match her canine appearance (big assumption, I guess, but…) so I’m pretty sure she’s heard the entire conversation and is just waiting to see who speaks first before she pounces.
