I stared at one of the panels for solid five minutes. Before I realized what was bugging me about these two dressing as who they are. Collin is taller than Tyler. And shaggy is supposed to be taller than everybody. In fact isn’t everyone except for Daphne (and of course Miranda)taller than him? Idk why I find that funny but I do
True talk: first draft had Colin commenting, “Aren’t you a little short for a Shaggy?”
That’ll be some doofus at the con.
With Tyler as Shaggy and Daphne as Scooby, SO many terrible slash fics may be inspired.

I don’t think she drives. We’ve never seen her behind the wheel. She gets shuttled around by Colin or Phoebe, usually.
She can probably “drive” a horse quite well.
That would NOT surprise me.

Or Daphne. Or Tyler. I very much doubt Miranda can.
I’m of the opinion that Tyler would look handsome in almost anything.

Panel 3 Ty’s Teen-Angst Grouch Slouch is the moral center of the comic this week.
It’s not often we see him in such a mood – usually Colin gets the humiliation role.
Somehow we got to a place where 4/5 of the crew have reason to be dissatisfied, even though they’re playing along. This could work, this could be a disaster. Who knows?

Miranda’s birth was more of a fiasco than a disaster, so there’s that.
Well, many if the disasters have ended well, so I’m not sure whether we qualify those as disasters, fiascos, or debacles.
All you can do is embrace the Shaggyness. You get to slouch, hang out, and eat large quantities of food. And all you have to do is panic every once in a while and try and run with a dog in your arms.

You know, you’d expect Canadians to appreciate a good Hudson’s Bay start.
I’m not Canadian enough to know what a good Hudson’s Bay start is.
Google says it’s a project management technique based on the (possibly apocryphal but who knows?) procedure by the Hudson’s Bay Company of having their expeditions do a short trial one – like a one-day campout – to identify what stuff they’d forgotten.
So in this case, they could load up the van and drive to a Horton’s to figure out what they forgot … possibly Miranda … isn’t this too much organization for our crew?
Interesting. The Hudson’s Bay Company in present day is a faltering department store chain (think a Canadian JCPenney) and that alters my perspective on what an ‘HBC Start’ is. Right now a solid HBC start might be a big closeout sale.
Back with Lewis and Clark, not only would they go a short way on the firs day, they start later than normal.
Then again, to make this work with a con, they’d have to leave the previous day, and they didn’t know they were going then!
Ah well.
As for department stores? Yeah, in-person retail’s a train-wreck right now. I remember back when people were arguing that imposing sales tax on online sales would “Strangle the baby in the crib”. We were so innocent.

Think American Voyageurs only just the one epedition, with a company of about 30, all the way to the Pacific and with a heavy diplomatic angle. A number of years ago, an anaotated edition of their logs were printed for the general public which is where I leaned about the Hudson’s Bay start. Their first day, they went not very far and rather late in the morning.
Tyler is even more loquacious, he’s on a roll! 🙂
