Betcha didn't think the monkey bears were coming back. But if there's one thing we're good at doing here, it's taking a throwaway gag from a single comic and expanding it into an overused trope! Like Garfield and lasagna. That was a punch line from an early Garfield comic, and a good one. Cuz, you know, what cat's favorite food is lasagna? But four decades later, just thinking about Garfield and lasagna makes me sad.

Yes, why would we be shocked that Phoebe has general knowledge about monkey bears, where 5 minutes ago she could remember what air is without her phone.
Genius isn’t consistent. It flashes and subsides.
And she somehow gets the clothes she designs to stick on. That’s certainly creative.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Phoebe is not dumb. I’d say she probably has an above average intelligence. But she’s a little naive and she’s focused her intelligence toward very specific pursuits. She’s a bit of a goofball and is shockingly lacking in most common knowledge, but the gears ARE turning up there.

Also, I adhere to the definition of geneous as intelegence, mastery and creativity at a high level. Man, is she creative.

ah yes, EG…This is where I was going with the “bear in the woods”… after having the exact same expression as the rest of the gang about Phoebe. Even Miranda is shocked. I don’t know that we have ever seen that before.

yep, “its” and “whose” both denote possession, while “it’s” and “who’s” both denote present-tense noun-verb contractions.
There are other similar words in the english language. (“they’re” and “there”, “you’re” and “your”, and quite a few more pairs of words).
Then there’s the famous/infamous triple threat… “two”, “to”, and “too”.
Flabbergasted is under used word. I’ll try to incorporate it in conversation today and see how it goes.

Whenever there are species that are named after two other species (for instance, the now extinct ‘bear dogs’), they always turn out to be related to neither animal. And so it probably is with monkey bears.

I believe somebody must have shown a chihuahua one of those ‘all dog breeds’ books and the dog saw/read the page on the doberman pincher or the great dane.
The silly little thing found out the depicted breed was a feared guard dog and noticed how much it looked like himself/herself.
I once gave my mother a poster showing a silhouette of a chihuahua with the caption “I DON’T CALL 911”.
I penciled in below it “I can’t reach the phone”
