Puck 670

Chapter: Short GirlsCharacters: Colin Cy Emily the Cat GirlTags: crazy date fangirl gatekeeper toxic
COSTUMES COME BACK! WAY TOO STUPID!!! Are you ready for the weird? The unexpected? Well, vote for Puck on TWC to see the weirdest, least expected costumes ever! A new one's popping up each week, so... VOTE TO EMBRACE THE INSANITY!!! As for this comic... We get a name. And a little more info. Nothing that would shock anyone, though. Just to clarify, this mini-arc isn't spinning off into any grand story or anything. It's just introducing a new character who may get a bit more play in later arcs. But no, this isn't really going anywhere. Not right now, anyway.

Ugh. I met one of those short female gatekeepers before. I feel sorry for Cy.

  • Marcus

Finally we get a name for this new character. Makes me wonder what would happen if she and Daphne cross path in the future ?

  • Aname

    Colin gets it.
    You don’t stick your pee-pee in cray-cray.

    • ElectricGecko

      Or your cree-cree in pay-pay.

    • JJR

I mean it is like the pot calling the kettle black.
(Puck is a little crazy herself)

      • ElectricGecko

        You noticed, huh?

I strikes me that Puck (and Daphne too) are Chaotic Evil but not necessarily toxic. We meet them as Puck transforms due to the power of love from a TV-watching lump into someone having an ambition (motherhood) that hasn’t involved compelling those around her to conform to her expectations. Indeed, she seems to have low expectations all around (it’s Colin that urges Daphne to grow up and treat her best friend right) so although she has the cray-cray, it’s damage potential is limited.

In contrast, toxic gatekeepers like Bethany enjoy bending people to their will – they are Lawful Evil – and extending their power to their horizons. Fortunately, their horizons may be limited; unfortunately, Cy put himself within her horizon.

He might try faking his own death. It may be the only way.

          • Demarion

“He might try faking his own death. It may be the only way.” That is what the gentleman thief Raffles did in one tv adapation series. Faked his own death to avoid his version of Bethany Balmoral. As I recall, it was a completely rational response to a completely irrational and appalling situation. I wonder if Cy could convince Balmoral he died, he’s actually his twin Ty and he isn’t interested in her at all . . . alas, I fear she’ll do a fingerprint analysis, so there goes that plan!

          • ElectricGecko

Something tells me Cy is very bad at lying.

          • ElectricGecko

Pretty spot on. I’d classify Puck and Daphne more as true chaotic neutral. They don’t wish harm on others … unless said person is standing in the way of their wants or needs. But yeah, they have low investment in other people. People like Bethany have very high investment in other people, if the worst way possible.

I always want many, many people to up vote you on TWC but I am saddened by the shameless sex you have added to the incentives it is off the charts NSFW!

  • Pat

Oh damn. Now I see Daphne’s Sonic fan more clearly now.

  • Keith

“You have no power over me” there’s more but let’s just say that kind…yeah. They avoid me like the wicked witch should have avoid water.

    • ElectricGecko

This type tends to torment those who have a friendly, approachable demeanor. If you give off strong ‘don’t frug with me’ vibes, these lesser demons tend to fly.

      • Keith

I’m quite approachable…or are you saying the scales, the wings, the charred armor around the yard, the dogs the size of humans that deal with lesser predators like bears are putting people off(cough, smoke rolls from nose) good. It’s too peopley around this place anyway.

    • LaughingDemon

“They never found the bodies” is the vibe I like to emit. I can’t really smile with exposed teeth or people worry I’m going to bite someone.
I attract those who know when I’m joking and enjoy that type of humor.

      • ElectricGecko

A good vibe for daily living.

      • Keith

Oh that one, yeah. Not me, nope. It’s a “My Scout Master was Big Julie and he taught me everything he knew and to not make his mistakes”. No arrests, No convictions, No investigations. I’m as pure as the driven snow. With reasonable rates.

  • LaughingDemon

Yeah.. you gotta want a recipe for disaster if you get down with psycho. Not really advisable.

    • ElectricGecko

Not really. Though sometimes a little exciting.

      • LaughingDemon

I feel like I’d wanna.. troll her, instead. Like my D&D choices were probably Goblin, Gelatinous Cube.. and Balrog.
When pushed on the last one, they very well were in the old Monster Manual. (I never played.. my folks had old sourcebooks and guides. I read through them as research for my game hobby, but I was too antisocial for D&D. Also my crew were into MMORPGs anyway).

  • Daniel S. Mountain

Can we cover bail? I’d like to lock her in a room with Puck long enough for a murder to happen.

  • Fifteen will get you twenty, if Cy thought about *that*…

  • Justin

    Yay more Emily!
So there’s some sort of hammerspace horse pocket behind the store counter?

Now to cross Viva La Dirt League into the Puck comments: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zvEe3Y3B2cg

All the Crazy Girl stuff aside, seeing Emily covering her coffee cup with her hand while wearing WHITE GLOVES is its own kind of crazy.

  • Demarion

I rather feel that when Colin returns home he will hug and hold Puck for a minute or two, luxuriating in the sheer joy and relief of sharing his life with her. Likely that will greatly confuse Puck, oh well. The hug and hold needs be done! As to whether or not we’ll see it, eh. We’ll see!

  • Demarion

Also, stray thought— I wonder if Daphne could ah, help Cy with his little problem. I would suggest Puck, buuuut, for all her abilities she just doesn’t have that last little spark of criminality Daphne has by instinct. Sooo, two or three thousand bucks under the table for something suitable yet also non-lethal or permanently incapacitating . . . . after all, there’s evil, then there’s just plain being rude about it!

  • JustSumguy

I think Cy and Bethany did more than just date for her to express this level of territoriality. I mean, it’s only natural for a woman to have a strong hunger for chocolate, but if Cy gave her the magic stick, then she’s not going anywhere else anytime soon until she comes across a more appealing flavor.

  • Frank

“Bethany Balmoral”. No wonder she turned out that way.

Someone you know? I’ve had customers like this, but thankfully, I have few options and they tend to go away.

Then again, there was the woman who didn’t understand how unit pricing works and I somehow got her to go away without it degenerating into a screaming match.

  • ChrisH

Poor Cy! Perhaps a secret trap door connected to an OPEN button would help? 😉

    • Frank

He has that. It’s on his side of the counter, that’s how he disappeared. He couldn’t get a contractor to make it work the other way around.

  • ChrisH

    @Frank, that’s the best reply I’ve read in a long time! :))
