If this is your work when tired … my goodness, the script is perfect! It’s an inevitable development, given the characters and the situation, and yet “poop in peace” is so plaintive and realistic … so many of us just nod along and say, “Yeah, Puck, we know.”
Phoebe’s also right. The most intractable conflicts arise when both sides have a good point.
In the background, Miranda and Auntee Tracee are having their own little scene. That really makes this strip pop!
Satan fidgets in the background, probably his wisest move.

My voice shifted into Vin Diesel mode when I thought that. So.. Fast & Furious. (then I saw the alt-text.. well played).
I knew that there was a catch to Puck acting all nice and caring for this current situation…
There is ALWAYS a catch.
Puck’s hope for a peaceful poop seems to me not so much to ask.
But at what price?
You can go without sleeping. You can go without eating. But try going without pooping.
Well, toddlers make the sleeping and eating part really difficult too. So it’s a trifecta of misery, really.
Sleeping, sure. Eating? As long as you don’t mind eating the same stuff the baby eats, no problem. Plenty of ways to play with food which involves you eating some, and sometimes even the baby!
Welp, a bowel’s gotta do what a bowel’s gotta do, number two: Electric Boogaloo.
When your poop is chronically chaotic, any price seems reasonable.
My question is, do they buy the right stuff. Single use purpose toilet paper or double use candy bars?
Now THAT is a callback.
If you’re mother to a toddler, pooping in peace is a rare luxury. I have to constantly keep my two-year-old from wrecking havoc in the bathroom while I try to do my business!
Spoken like a true parent. It’s funny what becomes luxury when you have small children.
To be fair, this is one of the few times Puck actually thinks logically. Jumping to the chance on getting free babysitting service. At least her dislike of blondes doesn’t hold a candle to having privacy.
Puck is capable of ‘small picture’ logic. Not sure she’s got a grasp on the ‘big picture’ stuff yet, though…
You grow into that.

I get Puck’s reaction, however–what if Tracee teaches Miranda The Way Of The Blonde? Or–what if Tracee decides she wants a child of her own? She and Satan are hardly in a position to afford one . . . not that that stops most people. Oh, but wait . . . Daphne’s around, there’s Hannah . . . the Cabal may be in for an unpleasant surprise.
You see the inner workings of the machine by glancing at the case. Impressive.

Hey come on now, Puck is being perfectly sincere. Her having a live-in nanny and being able to poop in peace is simply a benefit of that kindness she is meting out. It’s called karma.

Yep. One of the results of this incredibly slow upload schedule is that I have a lot of time to come up with story arc ideas. And this one has been planned for years and years.

Visibility was so bad today due to the smoke that it looked like I was playing an N64 game in real life. When reality only has a draw distance of two hundred feet, you know something is wrong. But thank you.

I hate it. I really do. I like to go on lengthy bike rides for exercise and the forecast has pretty much conspired to keep me indoors for weeks now. It’s been alternating forecasts of the threat of serious thunderstorms followed by thick smoke. It’s really frustrating.
