IT’S NO-NEW-NOVEMBER!!!
November is a rough month for me, so it’s time for another trip down memory lane! Every two days or so, a new voting incentive from the past will reappear! Vote often to see ’em all!
As for this comic…
Is this blatant lampshading of the fact that we have never seen Daphne’s room, nor have we ever clearly seen clear access to the house’s basement? Yes. Yes it is. When in doubt, make a joke out of it.
So…this is going to lead to an interesting view on Daphne’s living space. I mean it would be nice to see how she lives within the house. So I cannot wait to see what you have planned for this upcoming unique reveal.
How many years in the making was this?
Well, don’t get TOO excited. Expectations lead to disappointment!
The narrative imperative is strong in Colin.
If he needs it, it will come.
This is the way … of hack writing.
It’s a room we’ve never seen (correct?) in part because Daphne never spends any time in her room.
There’s a non-zero chance it’s a small bed, a dresser with three drawers for T-shirts… and otherwise entirely bare and empty.
OOOH! Instead of the bed-bed, a large-dog style pet-bed! (^_^);
You’re closest to right.
This is going to be an interesting reveal.
Outside of Daphne, who has seen her room?
Well, I’m sure Colin and Puck. Maybe Phoebe. That’s likely it.
And the party ventures into a previously unexplored part of the campaign ….
Is this a small, two-bedroom house, with a semifinished basement featuring the rarely-seen laundry room and Daphne’s lair?
IIRC the front porch is above the street far enough that the basement might have adequate windows, although what would they look out on?
In fairness, strip 84 WAY back when made it abundantly clear that the view from the master bedroom is of a steel mill, and there’s a crack house in at least one direction, so whatever the view from the basement is it’s probably not significantly worse than any of the other windows.
This IS a small house with two bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs. Semi-finished basement, maybe. But pretty grim down there. The windows would be the small variety and they would look out on nothing.
Also, the floor plan makes no sense and in classic sitcom fashion, the exterior of the house doesn’t match the interior.
I’m calling it now. Wall to wall My Little Ponies and Taylor Swift.
Don’t forget the Barbies. At least one shelf of Barbies dolls. And the lava lamp.
Puck got the lava lamp back. You can see it in her bedroom in some shots.
That would be fun. Sadly no.
Hannah’s never seen it, either.
#ISeeWhatYouDidThere
Extra points for you, sir.
Daaaaang… I just can’t see how you can make these kind of jokes.
For some reason, Firefox on my computer continues to have a problem with your comic and TWC (if I try to vote without logging on, it refuses to accept that I have selected the correct image, and it won’t let me log on). Chrome is fine. It’s probably my bleeding VPN, which stuffs up FF but not Chrome.
Deleting my cookies for this site didn’t help.
I wish I had a modicum of tech knowledge to help. But I do not. The site only works due to luck and prayer. On ANY browser.
I’m fine with TWC on FF on Win 10 Pro.
Must be your VPN.
Sooooo, either death metal posters, or totally frilly, or, in complete shock to the viewers, fairly average.
Which will it be?!?
Ha. Schrodinger’s bedroom!
I’m picturing unicorn posters, pink everywhere, string lights, a canopy bed, an area dedicated to geekdom, stuffed animals all over the bed…
Of course, that mental picture would be extremely painful for EG to draw, so… lol
When in doubt, always consider how hard something is to draw. That’s my philosophy.
Split the difference: Unicorn p@#$ posters.
No.
Man, don’t you hate it when cartoonists start getting drunk on their “artistic license” in the house….
“I c’n do anything I want…c’n even give Daphne an older brother, then pew! He’s gone.”
Hey. Not a bad idea.
Wait, Tyler hasn’t seen Daphne’s room? Weird.
What was on that wall before?
I’m guessing it’s mess. She’s a teen after-all.
That wall has had varying things on it, depending on plot needs. It once had a mirror on it. More typically, it has two paintings. This time, one painting was replaced by a door.
I seee… old Avril Lavigne posters.
Really? Sadly, tragically, kids who once were into Avril Lavigne are now in their thirties. And because of the weird time dilation of the comic, Daphne might have maybe been the right age for that, based on the fact that she was a little child in the late 90s. But now, not so much. I try to avoid such era-specific nostalgia elements due to that.
(Voting Incentive: an orange striped Catgirl who actually likes Mondays, has no strong feelings for lasagna)
My own 2-jobs, overly complicated work schedule kind of defies the preferences of the classically beloved orange striped cat (who never held a job, so you wonder why Monday was any different to him than the other six days.)
Fridays are in fact my most brutal day; the first of two days I must be at work by 7:30am, and will finish by 10pm. There’s a couple of breaks of a couple hours in the mid-morning and mid-evening, but for an insomniac who struggles to fall asleep in a timely manner, my longest day is also the first one I’ll likely be challenging on 5 hours sleep or less. (I’ve been known to call out sick on the mid-afternoon job if I only got 3 hours sleep. Driving a pickup with a trailer towed is a bit more dangerous if your vision keeps going blurry on you.)
Saturday starts just as early and ends just as late, but I’m spared 4 hours of my mon-fri construction delivery job. Naps are mandatory in that mid-morning break.
Sunday is my one full day off, when I don’t need to set any alarm at all. I’m immensely grateful for it; a few years back, I didn’t have Sunday.
So my Monday… I only work a total of 5 hours, 6 if the commenting is included, but I don’t have to actually start until noon. It’s my latest start to any of my 6 workdays, shortest in total hours. It’s frankly a nice gentle way to ease into my 6-day workweek. Got nothing against a Monday.
But fuck Fridays man… Friday’s suck for me. >_>
…Come to think of it, I haven’t made a nice ricotta lasagna in a long time! I think I’ll pick one up… for my Sunday! ^_^
I do enjoy a good lasagna. Haven’t made one in a long, long time.
I see….something totally unexpected.
And yet very expected. That’s the key to comedy.
Nice, Colin is a Star Raider fan.
Who isn’t, man? Although I think he’d be a purist and call them Star Seekers.
