I am of the opinion that saying it is cheap. It is only meaningful if you’re someone who doesn’t usually say it. And if you usually say it, it just becomes words, and words are easy. Showing it is always harder. Much harder.

I was referring to Puck. Because the opening line is “Puck has a snack.”

I don’t know much about young kids (beyond my fear and irrational hatred of them), but I do know that if you leave ANYTHING within reach, they will put it in their mouths.
At least it was food this time.
Yeah, honestly this is child-rearing basics and Puck has no one to blame but herself. Anything within reach will be reached, and anything reached will be chewed.

When my mom was a toddler, her cousin Puddin’ would dress her up, put her in a stroller, and they went trolling for guys.

Such is the power of food. Though really, kids make a bee line to eat dog poo too, so I can’t give any real credit to granola.
Okay, I just caught up after being off-line for weeks . . . public computer user here, so no love for a while . . . anyway, so nice to be caught up . . . guess I am a soap opera fan, so long as it’s comic strips–you catch up much faster, the dialogue’s better, and those involved are two-dimensional not one! (Also, re Tyler’s mom– I have the feeling she objects to Daphne because Daph’s way too much like she was at that age . . . )

Well, she could have grabbed a lot of other stuff that was not as healthy to put in her mouth, such as bacon, Pepperettes, chocolate, mussels, birth control pills, detergent capsules, Magic Eraser, OxyClean, etc. Okay, maybe the first few would not be so bad.

One of the things I like best about the carwash sequence is that Daphne felt compelled to conceal, even lie about the purpose, even though it was a good and worthy purpose.
Perhaps it happened for plot purposes, but in her head was it (A) to maintain her shady reputation, (B) avoid confronting the side of herself that is not selfish, or that experiences love for her family, or (C) habit?
People are complex; we may never know.
Or the most likely explanation, (D) All of the above.
